The other day I had a really good idea for a story:
A high school Shakespeare club angrily splits into two groups when they can’t agree on the correct interpretation of Romeo and Juliet. One group thinks it’s a cautionary tale about the stupidity of youth and shallow lust; the other group think it’s a beautiful tragedy about poisonous hatred conquered by love. Reconciliation seems impossible-
-then a person from one group falls in love with a person from the other
Marshall: Good little girl, always picking a fight with me. You know that I’m bad, but you’re spending the night with me. Why do you run from my world? You’re a good little girl.
Fionna: Bad little boy, that’s what you’re acting like. I really don’t buy that you’re that kind of guy. And if you are… why do you want to hang out with me?
Marshall Lee: -hisses and chuckles-
Marshall Lee: -speaks- Don’t you know I’m a villain? Every night I’m out killin’, sendin’ everyone runnin’ like children. I know why you’re mad at me. I’ve got demon eyes and they’re lookin’ right through your anatomy, into your deepest fears. Baby, I’m not from here. I’m from the Nightosphere. To me you’re clear, transparent. You’ve got a thing for me girl. It’s apparent.
FULL VIEW.Especially if the ANIMATION isn’t showing, which it sometimes doen’t with tumblr.
I deeply regret not shading and outlining the red miles in the first section. but whatever. IT’S DONE! At last, its’ finished! I. AM. FREE!!!! FreeeeeeEEEEEEEEEEeeeee. And such perfect timing to finish, too. I’ve been ill for the past two weeks, but I think I’m finally coming out of it! Huzzah!
Okay, anyway, so right after the update, I abandoned everything I was working on. I wanted to draw everything from the updated; the dirkjake, the smooches, the anbroids, those freakin’ amazing faces Roxy was pulling, but I knew I didn’t have time really, and I thought a cool rocket/hoverboard pose would be the easiest way for me to satisfy my update arting needs. As I was drawing the board, I was thinking how damn familiar it felt. It really did remind me of Transformers’ Hot Rod (the original version) for some reason. Flames on red? Was that all? And then I remembered a scene from from TF:TM. Realisation hits, I remember why the board feels so comfortably nostalgic in that cheesily awesome way. [souce: check about 50 seconds in] Oh. OH! So that’s why! And then I had to abandon my fanart to make this animation. Dirk’s movements are ripped right from that scene, I’m not that good at animating! All major credit to the original animators of ‘Transformers: The movie’, back in 1986. Good times, when TF movies were about TFs, not annoying douchbags and their dates. No, I’m not a hipster, I’m just showing my age. This is what old people do, grouch about new things. Deal with it. So yup, all I did was recreate it to fit Dirk’s scenario. Took much longer than I thought it would. About a week I think!
Then today I spent all morning tussling with WMM trying to figure out how to convert this into an avi so it wouldn’t be all giffy, only to discover WMM doesn’t allow you to numerically set frame duration. Bugger it, I yield. Have a compressed fugly gif instead. Goddamn it. And now, back to drawing asks.
