I’ve seen a lot of people laughing about Keith wanting for Cosmo to tell him his name, but I have to ask. Why wouldn’t Cosmo already have a name.
Cosmo is very clearly sentient and capable of understanding complex situations and other people trying to communicate with him. He’s closer to Allura than a Yupper as far as space aliens go. So why wouldn’t it be reasonable for Keith to assume Cosmo’s mother had given him a name?
Personally I see Keith waiting for Cosmo to tell him as a sign of respect for Cosmo’s obvious intelligence, an acknowledgment that Cosmo is not Keith’s pet.

Hi guys! You know, after this season (which had some issues, but I overall did really like) I was like: I know that fandom is going to have a strong reaction to this, I’ll not post my opinions for a little bit.
But, yeah. There is a couple of things that fandom is going way too far with.
This post will cover:
Adam.
…Yeah.
Fandom, I get that there were a lot of people that were hyping up Adam. From the moment we found out Shiro was gay, people turned their attention to the person that Shiro had been in a relationship with. Say what you will for their reasons for this (though I would argue that it’s hard to deny at least part of it was a strong desire to keep Shiro in the safe ‘taken’ zone) they soon took it way too far.
What we were told about Adam: He and Shiro had had a good relationship that ended after the ultimatum Adam gave Shiro before the Kerberos mission. We would see Adam again. Later, we found out that Adam broke up with Shiro because he felt that Shiro often prioritized his job and wasn’t wiling to make sacrifices for Adam.
None of this- none of it- implies that we were going to get a healthy LGBT couple on our screen. We weren’t told that Shiro was going to get back together with Adam. We weren’t told that we were going to be spending a lot of time with Adam. We were never, EVER told that we were going to see Shiro and Adam get married on our screen.
Those? Are all things that the fandom came up with, and hyped up to the point that they were convincing people they would be canon. When in fact? The only thing they ever were, was fanon. In fact, none of the canon information we had even really suggested that Shiro and Adam were characters that were good for each other, because their relationship on screen was heavily coded as negative.
If Adam had lived? That doesn’t mean we would have gotten another LGBT character with meaningful screen time. That doesn’t mean we would have gotten a healthy LGBT couple in the show. That doesn’t mean Shiro would have gotten a great deal of happiness. It probably would have meant that we got a barely there mention of Adam, and then we would have moved on. To the show’s actual characters.
I would have preferred that he had lived and in his brief moment been shown to have moved on, but…..
Guys.
Stop acting Adam’s death robbed you of the greatest LGBT love story this world has ever seen.

like ok. character development but also i think keith is getting real sick of hunk pulling him in close and then NOT kissing him
edit: ALSO both of these scenes happened because hunk was in a state of distress and in response pulled keith close to him. hunk feels comforted when keith is close to him its happened multiple times it’s canon.

I am aware that a lot of people feel uncomfortable about how the show dealt with Adam. As a queer, I too would have preferred he not die - my general mood is let the gays live - but that being said … his death made sense to me in terms of narrative? It didn’t seem like it was unnecessary, and from the interview snippets of LM and JDS, it does seem like they thought it out and this was the best course of action to further the plot.
Adam as a character might have deserved better treatment, but considering that we had like 3 seconds of him in general, I’d be hesitant to say he’s anything more than a plot device, like Ulaz or Heath. And we’ve had characters like that before (those two bois lol), that are introduced as plot-furthering devices only to be killed off for emotional value - RIP various Blade of Marmora characters - and that was Adam’s entire purpose. Firstly, as a way for VLD to explicitly say that Shiro is gay, and secondly, as a way to make the viewer go “OH SHIT EARTH IS FUCKED”. JDS and LM explained it far better than I ever could in the snippets I’ve read (which I’ll amend with if I come across my dash, but won’t go looking for because I’m not going to subject myself to the antis’ bullshit), but honestly, I don’t see his treatment as anything more than furthering the plot.
TL;DR I would have preferred he lived and get why that would be disappointing, but I understand why they chose to kill him off.
