it’s definitely unfortunate that tumblr has cultivated this bizarre hivemind where people with no analytical sense or desire to research can latch onto something and sink it within minutes
a lot of ppl i follow (myself included) have the tendency to reblog things, completely incensed, without actually reading them or going to provided links, it’s something i’ve caught myself doing and i’m deeply ashamed
basically i feel like even if Urbance WAS some weird thing with questionable subtext, it should have gotten the chance to get made so ppl could really dig into it and analyze it, find every nuance and dissect and explore it, because that’s what media is for!!! things don’t have to be pristine and infallable to be created and consumed
i hope Urbance gets another chance to get funded, perhaps after its audience has realized it jumped the gun with all its unfair expectations and unfounded telephone-game-style malignment
Please for the love of God, everyone go fund this.

fucking hell shows can evolve and become more inclusive as they go on but because not everything was considered at the begining its not even going to get made full poc cast!!! that would have been more than what wed usually get but because it didnt have -everything- people just fucking hated on it and with such a responsive team too
