(I don’t get the idea of Dualscar being absolutely terrified of GHB.
If anything, he’d be absolutely livid.
In meeting him again, he’d take it as an opportunity for revenge.
People forget, the Amporas are not cowards. Especially not The Orphaner.
The only one high enough to outshine him, to put him in his place is The Condesce. He is loyal to a fault for her, considering the shit he has to go through as an Orphaner.
If you take from what Mindfang has said of him, as unreliable a source as it is, he comes across as an all-business, no non-sense man.
When faced with the rape of the Dolorosa, he realizes that putting up with Mindfang’s shit has gone on too long. He was supposed to arrest her as he has all the other outlaws and pirates, as he works for Her.
He realizes this, and to take the Dolorosa out of her misery and to restore her dignity, he hires an assassin. He cannot bear to see the woman he has inadvertently wronged, and hires someone to kill her.
In his hurry to pursue Mindfang, he goes to order the Highblood to quicken the pace of their hired legislasterators.
Now, remember, Dualscar’s job IS TO FEED A GIANT, HELL-SPEAKING MONSTER. IN SO DOING HE WILL KEEP IT SUBDUED AND ASLEEP. IF IT WERE TO AWAKEN, ITS VOICE WOULD END THE WORLD AS THEY KNEW IT.
HIS KILLING HAS PURPOSE.
HE HAS A REASON TO KILL LUSII AND OTHER TROLLS.
IT IMPUNES HIS HONOR TO HAVE TO GO TO A PEASANT SUCH AS GHB FOR ASSISTANCE. HE KNOWS HE CANNOT FEED THE BANE OF THEIR EXISTENCE AND POLICE ALL OF ALTERNIA’S SEAS FOR SIGNS OF MINDFANG.
GHB kills for no purpose. He has no reason other than he thinks it’s funny. He is an ass who has never worked for his title, who has never faced such dangers as the Orphaner has.
GHB is a pampered, favoured, little boy. Dualscar must ask this brat. For. Permission. To. Do. His. Own. Fucking. Job.
Imagine his disgust at having to bow and snuffle for this brat-king. Imagine him standing ramrod straight, cape billowing as he towers over the seated GHB. Imagine Dualscar being diplomatic and civil as he tries to refuse, albiet through gritted teeth, the GHB’s spoiled command.
Imagine how disgusted he is at the purpleblood, over-zealous religious peice of entitled shit trying to enforce his measly, landwelling power over the Lord of the Seas.
Imagine how humiliated he felt, in the moment he was bested.
How stupid. How frail.
The Orphaner, Dualscar, is NOT MADE TO KNEEL TO SOME LANDDWELLING SLIME.
Imagine their dream-bubble meeting. And how *incesnced* Dualscar would be.
Now, imagine him taking his rightful vengence. Imagine him crushing every GHB he meets, imagine him laughing and relishing in the spilling of unworthy blood.
THAT. Is Dualscar.
Not some sniveling, whiny, cowardly peice a shit the fandom makes him out to be. )
