when they all go through the door in to the new universe,
is that all the alternate selves, the doomed ones, the sprites, the dream selves, the alpha and retconned alpha, the post and pre scratch…all of them, for one player, will merge.
That is the real point of the game, the purpose of the dream bubbles and alternate timelines. It’s all to serve the ultimate purpose of allowing multiple versions of the payers to reunite and merge in to one person with the wisdom of several lifetimes. Once a player is created, by the game itself mind you, the game just serves as the vehicle by which they becomes gods; true gods. It never truly allows them to die, banking their souls and allowing them multiple opportunities. In the context of the game, death doesn’t really mean anything, or it isn’t supposed to; as if LE destroying the ghosts wasn’t bad enough, he is actually taking away bits of their personhood by destroying those alternate selves.
But all the players, they live and die and fight and carry on, and in theory the idea of an “Alpha” timeline seems to make sense, where those in that timeline are the “real” players who get to win, in actuality it’s all irrelevant. Those players’ victory is the victory of all iterations of them throughout paradox space. No sacrifice or failure is forgotten, everything is completely vital to the final person they will become when they are gifted a new universe.
my favourite type of story are the ones that slow down time. you read word after sentence after paragraph after chapter, getting deeper and deeper, reading faster and faster and when you finally look up from the word ‘END’ you feel like youre in a different world, like everything has changed around you, but its only a few hours later and all you can think is
“terezi is in an abusive relationship give her ur pity”
“terezi is a perfect being”
All of you need to shut the fuck up. No, really. You’re worse than Vriska apologists. Terezi was never in an abusive relationship, she was in a black relationship. As in, the kind where you’re supposed to facilitate hate and spiteful reactions in order to get a rise out of the other. Maybe she couldn’t handle it, in fact, she DEFINITELY couldn’t handle it. Gamzee made her feel bad for the bad things she did. That’s not a crime. But her retaliation?
She is literally trying to MURDER SOMEONE WHO IS NOT FIGHTING BACK for no other reason that breathing.
“oh but he killed her friends”
Yeah, he did. Remember when she found their bodies? She thought Vriska did it and it was a game to her. Not to mention, she certainly didn’t seem to mind keeping him around for the three years afterward.
Not to mention, Gamzee’s barely conscious. He’s under Aranea’s influence. he’s not fighting back and Terezi’s actually trying to do more damage because of that.
Terezi is petty, Terezi is terrible. What she’s doing here is not retribution, and it’s definitelynot justice. It’s the equivalent of kicking a child because it accidentally gave you a dirty look.
