Ways to write a love triangle:

that can sometimes seem so lazy i just

i WANT to see the struggle!

i want to see the failure!

i want to see a genuine triangle that ends with the parties being unable to come to an easy solution because more often than not that is the reality and i have seen too many happy endings because so many people want them to be happy

but sometimes it’s nice to just see something happen where there needs to be a choice and needs to be a potentially tough decision rather than saying AH WELL IT’S FINE THEY ALL PERFECTLY LOVE ONE ANOTHER AND THERE AREN’T ANY PROBLEMS ANYMORE YAAAY THE END

does anyone else feel that way?

i dunno man i’ve just see one too many people who tend to get really shocked  when you even propose that a character not reciprocate feelingslike it’s taboo to say no

YES, THANK YOU.

Not that I don’t love the polyamory endings (if it’s done right and isn’t forced by the author just because “oh it’s different”), but I also really love drama.  I love seeing things not work out and then people having to deal with that somehow, be it in healthy ways or very obviously unhealthy ways.  I like tension and people not being able to decide, though they really care about both all parties involved.

Hell, if you want to add something different than monoamory, make someone polyamorous, but them have them fall for someone who’s monoamorous and they’re not cool with them having another partner.  Or even then, they can all be polyamorous, but just not mix well together for one reason or another.  But for God’s sake, don’t just force a polyamorous relationship to solve all of the problems in romance.
