I sure as fuck wish that people found my chronic, incurable and regularly fatal disease interesting. I wish that they educated themselves about it and/or they let me explain a couple of basic things about it before they made a fool of themselves and made me feel like shit by saying stupid, uninformed junk. I wish that I could have people who said ‘Man, that’s kind of cool’ when I got excited about something going well or was proud of how well I understand my condition, rather than looking at me with misty eyes and saying ‘Oh god you poor thing, I don’t know how you handle it because I never could’
Fuck off.
Remember folks: Every scientist who ever went into medicine and found interest in how viruses work while also working with them to understand them and better come up with working vaccinations is just ableist scum.
