you dont have to -pay- for anything (at least in greece you dont!), you just need to put a euro in to make it operable! as you can see there really isnt anywhere for the euros to -go- if you were actually paying for it
see what the arrow is pointing to? thats a peg that is connected to the shopping cart in front of this one. when the carts are in the bay theyre connected like this so no one can just come in and steal them for their own shenanigans
putting the euro in makes the peg pop out, and makes the cart free to use
when you’re done, you just slide the cart back into the other ones, put the peg back in, and the euro pops out again!
