You know what I find really interesting about people who post pictures of Jesus, quote Jesus, and cite Jesus when spreading anti-choice propaganda?

Jesus was Jewish. Remember that? Maybe you don’t. Either way, he was.

My partner and I got to discussing this yesterday and I wanted his insight and opinion, because I wanted to be sure I didn’t get anything wrong (he is Jewish, was raised in a Jewish family, etc).

Guess which group is overwhelmingly pro-choice? Jews. Guess what the majority of Conservative, Reform, and Reconstructionist Jews are, to this day? Pro-choice.

Jesus would have been pro-choice, because in Judaism, the life of the pregnant person is always more important than the fetus. In addition, the Talmud gives the full status of humanness to a child at birth. Yes, at birth.

Just something to think about if you are considering posting your white Jesus pictures and putting words in the mouth of someone who’s been dead for around 2,000 years.
