You can apply this to any oppressed group. Every PoC has been oppressed by someone white. Every trans person has been oppressed by someone cis. The list goes on and on.
And because you asked this question- YES, ALL CIS MEN.
Every person of privilege oppresses in some way because we benefit from some way from the system. We also can live ignorantly if we want to with no consequence. We have been brought up in a culture that rewards us for keeping the system and being ignorant. It is impossible for me to not be racist, because I am white.It is impossible for me to not be transphobic, because I am cis.
I want every single man, every single cis person, every single straight person, every single privileged person ever to look at my SJ posts and ask ‘am i doing that?’. If I put ‘some men’ ‘some cis’ etc. THAT LETS EVERYONE OFF THE FUCKING HOOK. Because you will assume you don’t do that, even if you do.
Also, you fail to understand social justice- so many people who ask question like these do. Social justice is NOT ABOUT INDIVIDUALS. IT IS ABOUT SOCIAL GROUPS, CULTURE, AND THE WHOLE. When a PoC makes a post like ‘ugh white people’ they are not talking about individual white people, they are talking about a group, a whole, a system of oppression. And don’t give me the bullshit about ‘oh, well they should say some’ because
First: yes, all white people
Second: as if you haven’t at some point exclaimed ‘i hate people’ or ‘i hate drivers’ or ‘i hate customers’. You don’t hate all customers or all people or all drivers, just the circumstances that put you in a horrible position
