I HATE THIS SHIT. i’m agnostic, but when someone says something like this to me i just smile and nod, or say “yup”. you don’t have to rub your religion or lack thereof in everyone’s face when they’re being nice to you. like “oh you’re mom’s sick, i’ll pray for her” - “no don’t bother i’m agnostic”. or you sneeze “god bless you” - “i’m an atheist”. like stop being rude.

She wasn’t being rude….. if people are allowed to openly be religious other people should be allowed to be openly not religious, if someone offers me pineapple I say “no thanks I’m allergic” not nod and let my throat swell up to be polite

And if you watch the actual video she follows this up with, but I don’t blame anybody for thanking the lord” after he asked two or three times about “the lord”, so op’s point is sort of unfounded in relation to this situation.

And as a journalist making the assumption that someone is Christian (based on the question phrasing and the fact that yeah, he mentions the lord a couple of times, i’m guessing he is) is pretty much just asking for someone to say something like this.

This isn’t someone saying “god bless you” or “god be with you” or “I will pray for you” which are all just things that people say to show that THEY are doing something with their religion that they hope will help others, this is someone saying “yes but aren’t you thankful for [my] lord?” to which anyone has a right to answer with a negative or even something like this.
