the reason people think that only/mostly gay men are pedophiles is that the only time pedophilia is really demonized in the west is when its towards boys; sexual attraction towards young girls (or bodily features/clothing used to indicate youth like pigtails and school girl uniforms) by straight men is encouraged and seen as healthy and normal

After working in the criminal and the family court, you wanna hear the excuse I hear the most from straight men going after little girls?
"Well she looked mature and she acted mature."
Literally at one point the judge I was working for was like “Sir do you know how old she was?”
"I think she was like 16 but I’m not sure" (defendant was like 30 at the time)
"it says in the record that the victim was 13 at the time?"
"Well I don’t know, she didn’t look it, I don’t think she was 13."
"Sir I am literally looking at the police report and it says she was 13, and I am looking at her pictures too."
"Well whatever she didn’t look 13."
"…But she looked 16?"
"Well…uh…"
