That’s….not true though. If the cat was intent on eating baby it wouldn’t wait until it was dead. Cats like to smell our breath to see what we’ve been eating, and because our breath gives them information. The cat was probably making sure baby wasn’t sick. Now, if a cat owner dies and the cat is stuck in there with them, yes, they’ll eat the now-dead body, but it’s not their first choice, namely because most animals prefer fresh meat that’s still alive. Cats don’t automatically consider their families food sources, other than being aware of the fact that you feed them. Also, check out the kneading action in that first gif! Cat was not hunting! Cat was cuddling and caught a whiff of baby’s breath and decided to investigate.
