can i just say i hate it when a jrpg will make a big deal out of a character’s iconic weapon or outfit and then immediately ask you to change it within the first hour of playing
like “here is Ignis Finalfatasy, with his iconic Engine Blade that his father gave him as a wee baby. Sell the Engine Blade immediately and use the money to buy a Bronze Sword at the first shop. the bronze sword is better.”
this especially bothers me in the Persona games where the game gives you this badass looking character like Izanagi or Arsene
like “Here is Arsene, the reflection of your true self and a bad looking motherfucker all around. Get rid of him immediately. Literally the shittiest jobber Slime monster imaginable is better than Arsene.”
