I know it’s fun to joke that “the straight people are at it again” but sometimes it is way more than that.

Sometimes the weird obsession with baby making and motherhood is part of some larger white supremacist ideology, like the Nazi cult of motherhood (which is unfortunately alive and well today) or various Christian dominionist groups.

The creepy emphasis on defining women as sets of body parts and mothering and nurturing is there, yes, but it’s important to remember it’s only part of the picture, so we can actually recognize neo-Nazis when they rear their heads instead of just laughing them off as “lol straight people”.

This is a good point. White gay people have a responsibility to identify white supremacy and condemn it rather than laugh it off as somehow distant from them or their sexuality.
