I actually wanted to come back and reblog this because in s3e7 we see Zarkon do it too:

And sure Zarkon and Kolivan both have big hands, but, not so big that it’d really… necessitate that positioning, which makes me wonder if this is a cultural difference with the galra- their version of a handshake is clasping forearms.
