If you do, you’ll be doing what the LNP wants you to do.
They’re only planning to have a postal vote because they think that only older people (particularly those against SSM), will vote, and that young people (who mostly support SSM) will be less likely to vote.
If you boycott the vote, you’ll still be doing what they want you to do, i.e, not using your voice and your vote to support same-sex marriage.
If we can stop it, that’s great. If we can’t, then let’s make it a freakin’ landslide in our favour. Let’s send a message to every gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, intersex or questioning person who feels insecure right now that we’re in this together, and that Australia is with the LGBTQI community. Let’s send a message to parliament that their hatred and bullshit and excuses won’t stand. Let’s show everyone how much support there is in Australia today.
