keith knows that’s not the real shiro

for anyone confused about the keith/shiro interactions in episode 6, i think this is why. first we see him trying to talk out what happened with shiro, and he has this look on his face:

that’s not the look of someone that’s happy to have the person that’s most important to them back, and i think we can all agree the first two episodes are setting up and reaffirming that for keith, shiro is a top priority, if not the top priority in almost every instance.

there’s obviously an implicit “i need you” but he’s clearly distancing himself from that sentiment, i think because he knows that whether or not this is his shiro, the team needs shiro to be ok. this is literally the saddest we see him so far this season, and it’s because he knows that’s not shiro and he’s consciously deciding to set it aside for now. more below the cut:
