The fact that The Hunger Games elicited more thoughtful reactions about a war between a government and rebels and everyone was crying over Primrose, and Katniss’s love story, but does NOT care about what’s happening in other countries right now despite the very REAL genocide that has wiped out most of the country and now 98% of CITIZENS IN ALEPPO is just maddening.

When you were in high school and learned about WW2, your primary question was: “how could anyone do this? How could the world sit back and watch?” And now with more media coverage than ever, the world is still not helping.

The problem is always the people who simply don’t care about others’ lives because they value themselves above them. People are afraid that a refugee might somehow steal their job, but literally do not care if they die.

When Trump won the elections, a lot of Americans started saying they wanted to leave the country. Thought moving to Canada would be a simple drive into the country and ur basically in America 2.0! But some (keyword some) of those same people were anti-refugees who kept saying “they should stay back in their country and deal with their problem, not run away from it”.

People are officially sending their goodbyes from Aleppo. Officials are saying this is one of the biggest genocides in history. And we are going to be the people in history where everyone asks “how could they not do anything?”
