and the Billion Dollar Questions I’m sure tony asks himself a lot post-im1-fuckery: 

 a) was Ob*diah exactly the kind of caring supportive father figure tony thought he was before eventually deciding that tony wasn’t worth his time or effort and that he was a problem to be solved? Did he just get sick of him? Was it Tony’s fault for driving him away, or

b) was he honest-to-god playing the long game for tony’s Entire Life and never gave a shit about him and one of the most important relationships of his life was actually complete and utter manipulative grooming bullshit just so Obie’d get a fat paycheck, and

c) what does this mean RE: the rest of the important relationships in his life? Is Rhodey going to snap one day? Is pepper playing the long game to be CEO? And sure, he doesn’t want to believe that, but he certainly didn’t expect it from Ob*diah and look what happened there
