oh my god i need to find my chill before i jump at a tagged post where someone claims its “incredibly out of character” for tony to point the muzzle of a gun to his own face and risk his life in order to protect somebody else i mean EXCUSE ME but did you take 2-to-3-hour-long bathroom breaks during EVERY SINGLE TONY STARK MOVIE TO DATE

Iron Man - Saves a village, saves a pilot who had been trying to gun him down, saves Pepper, gives up his missile business.

Iron Man II - is depressed as hell, dying, saves Pepper and Happy from a guy in a lethal suit, fights with best friend but lets it go as soon as said best friend even attempts to apologize, saves Pepper and every one in the Expo, gets rejected as a person to join the Avengers but joins as a ‘consultant’ because it’ll save the world

Iron Man III - challenges world-feared terrorist because his driver/friend got hurt, suffers from PTSD but builds an entire Legion to protect his girlfriend, gives away his suit to said girlfriend to protect her and ex-girlfriend/fling, confronts and fights fire-breathing group of maniacs, helps traumatized girlfriend and risks his protection (his suits and arc reactor) to protect his relationship.

Avengers - Gets belittled by almost everyone, is traumatized by the fake-death of a guy who’s not his biggest fan, challenges two Gods (one of who, throws him down his own Tower and the other tried to fry him with lightening), defends the Hulk and offers a home to a man people are terrified of. Last but not the least, two words : Nuke. Portal.

Age Of Ultron - Gets traumatized by the very thought of losing his team, tries to build an armour-bot for the world, loses most trusted AI to said armour-bot, risks self to calm down the Hulk, builds another android with Bruce to end his own monster bot, gives up being an Avenger because of guilt for what his ideas had led to.
