Undertale is back on the board! Let’s do this! http://www.gamefaqs.com/features/bge20_vote
See, and here’s the thing. I’m a 30 year old. Super Mario 64 was an amazing game and a breakthrough for tons of snes gamers who all gasped collectively to see Mario move in a 3D environment… but when you get down to it, it’s a puzzle game about rescuing a princess from Bowser and collecting stars.
Undertale has had a profound effect on my life, however. The morals in the game are all about love and choice and you don’t have to hurt anyone to advance and the game makes it perfectly clear that you are not being rewarded when you choose to cause harm to the monsters in the game.
It’s breathtaking and, for that reason, I believe Undertale deserves to go all the way to the top.
It’s been a very, very long time since a video game has made me feel what Undertale has. A very, very long time.
undertale has done so much for me. I’m drawing more, I’m more inspired, and the themes in the game have actually helped me through a time where otherwise I would have been kind of miserable. I don’t want undertale to win because it “should” or because I’m “part of the fandom,” I want it to win because if it does, maybe more mainstream gamers and gamedevs will take it seriously, and maybe more games like it will come along.
A lot of people think we just vote for undertale to piss off other gamers but thats just not the case. I am continuing to vote for undertale because it REALLY gave me the best gaming experience I ever had and I think it deserves to win this poll. I dont care about the fandom, I dont do this because people told me to, I do this because Undertale has a wonderful story and AMAZINGLY well written characters and I never ever cried and laughed so much in a game before.
And I hope people wont shower this game with hate if it should win.
It saddens me to see games and cartoons being hated on just for how popular they became or for the fandom behind it. I want you to ignore those voices around you and just focus on the game, because it honestly is worth a try and Toby Fox did a wonderful job on it. There is just so much love for detail and trust me, once you played through the game, you want to explore all of its secrets.
