like…the lgbt community isnt some party that you werent invited to it was borne out of shared experiences between lgbt people and their need for safety from straight cis people. including straight cis people that dont experience sexual attraction

lgbt people: gets told that they are wrong/broken/unnatural. feels excluded, fears coming out. 

aro/ace people: same

lgbt people: literally murdered for being trans and/or being attracted to the same gender

cishet aro and ace people: you have to let us into ur community because i have felt the same emotions as you at some point in my life.

Asexual people are raped in order to try to “fix” them.

Ace/aro people are subjected to therapy as “treatment” for their orientation.

Research has shown that asexuals experience high rates of discrimination and are the most dehumanized group among all orientations. 

So no, it’s not that they just have “felt the same emotions at some point” - asexual and aromantic people experience discrimination due to their orientation, are a marginalized orientation group, and deserve a place in the lgbtqiAp+ community.
