something im curious about is whether other people consider shushing rude or not. in my household i was raised to find shushing, without a ‘sorry’ or a reason attached, or without it being super-soft and non-confrontational, the height of rudeness. like, saying ‘please be quiet’ and a reason was the way to go and if you shushed someone you were being extraordinarily impolite, maybe even mean. i’d definitely get in trouble for it if i ever did.

but it seems like that’s not the case for other people? is that common? i’m really curious as to how many people think its rude or not?
