queer hogwarts headcanon thingy

• students whose parents disowned them for being queer stay at school during the holidays and have huge, inter-house sleepovers in the common rooms (those in charge turn a blind eye to the slytherins clambering through the portrait hole with their pillows, the gryffindors wandering around near the kitchens holding their pajamas, the hufflepuffs sneaking out the ravenclaw door the next morning looking like they’ve gotten maybe an hour of sleep, and the ravenclaws tiptoeing their ways down to the dungeons with books and blankets in hand)
  
• those students do “secret santa” so that they all get a gift on christmas, even if it’s not from their blood family. it’s from their chosen family.
• this goes on until a rather wealthy pureblood student comes out to his parents and is terrified of their reaction, already preparing to join the “queersmas” group as they have come to call themselves. to his surprise, his parents are accepting and when they learn that the students don’t have a home to go to, or a family to care for them, they insist that their mansion be that home and that they be that family. the students are all brought there for the winter holiday and are absolutely spoiled with gifts and food and love. they leave for school again waving goodbye to the couple who has given them permission to call them “mom” and “dad” if they want to.
