Time to share a little headcanon of mine I’ve had for a long while now.

Based on this cute practice that male high school students in Japan, where they would give the second button of their gakuran to the person they’re in love with because that button is the one closest to their heart.

If dwarves have their beads as their way of courtship, I can see Hobbits taking up this courtship practice, along with the flower/flower crown/food

The acorn design on Bilbo’s buttons was A++ addition now, especially after the acorn scene in BoTFA.

…And of course, Thorin has zero clue about this. Oh how I love cultural differences~
