reading wilson’s statements about Mike Brown further illustrates why the “magical negro” trope is so fucking dangerous. he called Mike a “demon”. he said he looked like he got stronger with each bullet fired into him. he saw him, not as a human, not as a boy, but a mystical frightening creature that absolutely needed excessive force to terminate. he didn’t see him as human and capable of feeling pain and death. he was supernaturally othered.
