“I am very fucking convinced that spiders were put on this earth just to fuck with me! I was sitting here, minding my own goddamn business, and a little, tiny, 8-legged abomination came and crawled and sat on my leg! I didn’t even notice it until I looked down and you know what?
I- I-
I stood up and screamed and it just crawled away. I don’t even know where it is! I am a prisoner in my own home!”
The Kingii is an emergency life preserver that you can strap right to your wrist that inflates in seconds and brings you straight to the surface of the water.
This is such a good idea and maybe the manufacturers should design a way to make it automatically inflate if someone passes out but idk how you would do that
Every single Australian person who is outraged at the police (and entire societal) brutality against black people in the US that’s currently in the headlines needs to put the same amount of energy into learning about the VERY SAME brutality that’s used here in Australia to oppress Indigenous Australians.
Every single Australian, whether in Australia or overseas, born in Australia or born overseas, needs to put the onus on themselves to EDUCATE, INFORM and TALK ABOUT the institutional violence black Australians face.
White Australia has:
Warning. These links may contain the names and images of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people now deceased.
Refused Indigenous people treatment from the Royal Flying Doctor Service in preference of less in need white people (‘Ray Martin: The Great Divide’, SBS)
minimised and attempted to erase the historical importance of Aboriginal Australians, including that Indigenous Australians may be the earliest humans on the planet
Be outraged at Ferguson. Be outraged about Tamir Rice. Be outraged at ALL the black deaths due to police brutality and institutionalised racism in the USA.
But ALSO be OUTRAGED at the same treatment shown to Indigenous Australians here in this country.
let’s stop seeing sex as the biggest thing you can do to show someone you love them
everyone knows that the real way to show someone you love them is to find them a really cool rock. not a diamond. just a neat rock that you think they will enjoy
Today’s pet peeve: comic book artist who only know how to draw women in high heels, so if a character’s costume doesn’t actually include any, she ends up inexplicably hovering on tip-toes for the whole issue.
omg this is a thing? I’m fucking dying.
I get your point but I feel like a lot of that isn’t what you’re thinking
When I was a goalkeeper we were taught to move on our toes because it helps keep you on balance if you need to change direction.
When someone is fighting, or doing something athletic light that, they’ll often be on their toes, and it makes sense for a character to be drawn that way
They’re just standing there! On their tippy toes! For no reasom! I’m glad you’re giving them the benefit of the doubt, but this isn’t about battle poses (especially since the men don’t go on their tippy toes, they’re firmly on the ground)
Yeah, okay, thats definitely an example of somebullfuckery
So it’s safe to assume that Yellow Diamond isn’t the only gem in charge of the home world.
in sworn to the sword, we see 4 literal diamonds at this temple
but on peridot’s ship there are only 3 of those colors remaining. You’ll notice that pink is the missing color.
so it’s a pretty accepted theory that rose used to be part of the diamond authority, and if you look at this temple here, from left to right you can see a white gem (with the triangles present on both the home world gems’ costumes, and on the floor of peridot’s ship), rose, a blue gem, and a yellow gem.
None of this is new, but I saw a theory about the Diamond Authority being made up of fusions. From the way Jasper acts, there seems to be a heavy stigma against fusions on the home world. Which if you ask me, is the perfect set up for discretely fused gems to reign as the most powerful gems.
Here’s where it gets interesting, I believe that the 4 diamond authorities corresponded to the 4 basic elements. White Diamond controls Air, Blue controls water, Yellow controls fire and Pink (rose) controls Earth.
“But Rose Quartz controlled plants, not rocks!” I hear you say.
This brings me to my next point.
Each Diamond is made up of a dominant gem to rule, and an elemental gem to give them power.
Pink Diamond was made from Rose Quartz and Desert Glass
So far we’ve seen the fates of two elemental gems:
Desert Glass and Lapis, both of which were imprisoned in objects so that their abilities could still be used.
So what I think happened is that the sight of what the Kindergarten was doing to the planet was so upsetting to Pink Diamond, that much like when Garnet saw the cluster, her fusion became unstable. Pink Diamond split into
Rose Quartz and Desert Glass. Rose Imprisoned Desert Glass to prevent their reforming so she could take a stand against Home world.
The main leader in the counter strike to the rebellion was Blue Diamond.
Now another theory I saw that highlighted the significance of Steven’s Humanity pointed out that Sadie was able to take down a corrupted gem with a stick.
As a human, she was able to take down the kind of monster that even the crystal gems struggle against. This could be due to an intrinsic weakness to organic matter. The seaworm monster from Bubble Buddies was defeated by a collapsing boardwalk
In Watermelon Steven we learned that Rose was able to summon plants to defend her in combat. If gems really do have a weakness to organic life, then that puts rose at a huge advantage.
Which is why she was able to defeat Blue Diamond and trap Lapis to a mirror.
What better way to gain intelligence on the enemy than to view the memories of a former leader?
But then what happened to the Blue Diamond’s dominant gem?
There’s no safer place to store it than in Lion’s Mane.
