I was at a client’s house to talk about building a
website for their gardening business.
Client: How
much for a website?
Me: That depends on…
Client: (interrupting) Just answer
my question!
Me: As I was saying, it depends on
what you want. The design, the number of pages required, et
cetera. I have a list and based on that I can make a price.
Client: Tell me how fucking much it
is! I have a $150
budget.
Me: That won’t even buy you the
design.
Client: Bullshit! Complete bullshit!
Just answer my question!
Client’s Wife: are you stupid? Just
tell him how much!
The hashtag #CrimingWhileWhite became a platform to illustrate what often happens when white people engage in criminal activity. It was a powerful moment, as white people openly acknowledged that they don’t face nearly the same punishment or brutality experienced by their black counterparts. But despite the good intentions of those who participated, many others felt like the hashtag detracted from conversations about the value of black lives.
you should literally never tell anyone a trans person’s birth name
somehow cis people have a habit of telling me about their “trans friend” (probably a friend of a friend) by saying “oh you should meet my friend diana! she used to be doug!” wink wink nudge nudge
DISCLOSING A TRANS PERSON’S BIRTH NAME IS NEVER NECESSARY AND IS AN ACT OF VIOLENCE.
My brother told me that nobody older than eight watches Steven Universe. He’s been gaslighting me lately and tells me that it’s unnatural to watch a cartoon about aliens at my age (14).
I want to prove him wrong and I need your help.
Reblog this if you like Steven Universe, and put your age in the tags!
Harley and Joker have been together since day 1! You can’t just split them up bc Harley suddenly likes Ivy now! They’re old canon! No one wants to see two women in a relationship anyway their just put together so peple can see them makeout
Literally from the first episode they’re in together, they’re already at the point of wearing no pants, putting pictures on the fridge, and basically being domestic and already married.
(Hawt face there, Ives)
Why can’t they be canon?
Kindly get out of here with your homophobia, pal. Let the big kids read their comics.
“harley and ivy can’t be together because i prefer super abusive straight relationship rather than healthy f/f one” holy fucking shit, anon
Harley/Ivy isn’t the reason Harley should split up with Joker, since the authors confirmed, along with canonizing the Harley/Ivy ship, that Harley wasn’t about exclusive relationships. They basically said she’s poly.
Harley should split up with Joker because HE’S A FUCKING ABUSIVE ASSHOLE
Oh yeah
Ivy and Harley are totally
in a healthy
relationship
in no way
is this not
a super negative
and toxic
thing they got going here
In all reality, Harley and Ivy’s relationship is just as bad as Harley and Joker’s so you all need to wake up from your fantasy land
Okay, but here’s the thing, and I’m not sure you’re ready to hear this, so here we go:
Comic books are a fucked up continuity.
It’s the ONLY form of entertainment where you can PICK and CHOOSE how you choose to view your favorite characters based on universe and author.
One story about Superman does not necessarily hold true for another story about Superman.
Yes, Ivy has been written as abusive to Harley in the past (though that was not how their story starts off, I add), but their dynamic is often written as close and co-conspiratorially. And, very often, Ivy tries to talk Harley into leaving the Joker, or risks her neck to save her.
I’ve never seen a universe where Joker places Harley before himself, but I’ve seen universes where Ivy has.
One being in the Harley Quinn comics before the reboot, where Ivy literally takes a BULLET for Harley.
From Joker.
A bullet meant for Harley, but Ivy was dressed as Harley, and no, Joker was not aware it was Ivy whatsoever.
In nearly every universe, Joker is abusive to Harley. Ivy is abusive occasionally, but often written supportively (albeit usually grumbling along the way).
You are probably saying to yourself “but they’re villains!”
And? Harley is marketed at young women and young GIRLS more often than you think. You can’t market a character at children and have the same character tortured and hauled around by the hair as Joker has done in the past. In areas of MEDIA EASILY CONSUMED BY CHILDREN.
This is why I’m so happy that, despite its flaws, Harley is more often than not standing on her own two feet, separated from Joker in the New52.
And I hope it stays that way from now on.
One day, Harley’s time with the Joker will be her ORIGIN story.
North Sentinel Island, located in the Bay of Bengal, between Myanmar and Indonesia, is home to an isolated tribe that has never been colonized or even made contact with. These people are one of the last Stone Age tribes on Earth whose culture has been completely untouched by modern civilization.
“Stone Age tribes” “untouched by modern civilization”
what a bunch of white supremacist bullshit
they are not “Stone Age,” they are not “untouched by modern civilization,” they ARE a modern civilization… seeing as how they are a civilization that exists currently, today, in the modern world
whiteness is not a measure of modernity. colonization is not a marker of progress
Reblogging for the comment ^^^^ Some people have no fucking idea that there are many many many people in all different parts of the world who still live off the land. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that
when they all go through the door in to the new universe,
is that all the alternate selves, the doomed ones, the sprites, the dream selves, the alpha and retconned alpha, the post and pre scratch…all of them, for one player, will merge.
That is the real point of the game, the purpose of the dream bubbles and alternate timelines. It’s all to serve the ultimate purpose of allowing multiple versions of the payers to reunite and merge in to one person with the wisdom of several lifetimes. Once a player is created, by the game itself mind you, the game just serves as the vehicle by which they becomes gods; true gods. It never truly allows them to die, banking their souls and allowing them multiple opportunities. In the context of the game, death doesn’t really mean anything, or it isn’t supposed to; as if LE destroying the ghosts wasn’t bad enough, he is actually taking away bits of their personhood by destroying those alternate selves.
But all the players, they live and die and fight and carry on, and in theory the idea of an “Alpha” timeline seems to make sense, where those in that timeline are the “real” players who get to win, in actuality it’s all irrelevant. Those players’ victory is the victory of all iterations of them throughout paradox space. No sacrifice or failure is forgotten, everything is completely vital to the final person they will become when they are gifted a new universe.
