I literally just witnessed a tumblr discourse that went “well _____ is a super popular artist, so while I don’t have any dirt on her yet I’m sure I can easily dig some up!”

y’know, just in case people still have any doubts on what 90% of these callouts are actually about

It is Not.That.Easy. I’ve given my number out a few times only to block their calls so that in the moment I would be left alone. Men are entitled and persistent and it’s just not that easy ok.

why the Dismaland backlash is annoying me

colourofcrumar:

listen i get it. i get why everyone is annoyed with Banksy and is sort of disowning him. i understand why people are over him. I GET IT.

but come ON.

it’s not just Banksy that’s involved with Dismaland. i’m thinking it was essentially his idea, but he’s using it to host OTHER ARTISTS. from AROUND THE WORLD. he only has about three or four pieces throughout the show.

there are Palestinian, Saudi Arabian, and TALENTED FEMALE artists showing their pieces in the Dismaland gallery and throughout the park that you’re tearing down because ‘Banksy is SO pretentious’ or whatever trendy thing you think you’re submitting to.
Banksy himself said that he’s trying to do something different BECAUSE he realizes that his artwork is the view point of a middle class white dude.

please give Dismaland a chance. please realize it’s not a soapbox for Banksy. it’s an art festival(that is actually reasonably priced seeing as how Damien Hirst is showing there) for artists who are making strong statements.

One of the art pieces there is a woman’s first art piece based on her domestic abuse. Banksy encouraged her to use art to express this. Don’t forget that.

if anyone is curious about what you’re missing out on… here’s a list of the artists that are exhibiting at Dismaland.

http://www.dismaland.co.uk/artists/

if you don’t want to support the show, then at least look up these artists and notice their hard work.

So what you’re saying is, contrary to what tumblr would have you believe, Dismaland is the collaborative effort of several different artists from around the world and not some lone “pretentious” white dude?

Tumblr didn’t bother to research before throwing shade again? Welp.

This post was at the top of my dash and I wasn’t going to reblog it because I thought I didn’t care but then I saw like nine dumb humor posts about it and yeah

Wanna know what’s super gross and wrong

imhellaqueer:

gonewiththepages:

Middle-aged women coming out of Magic Mike XXL and thinking it’s okay to make suggestive comments to teenage boys. Because I work at a movie theatre, and it happens way more often than you would think. Our (mostly male, teenage) ushers stand at the doors of theaters as the movie ends and tell people to have a good day before cleaning the theaters. And as this happens with Magic Mike audiences, groups of 40 and 50 yo women will occasionally say repulsive and sexual things to the male ushers, and that is 100% not okay. And what’s worse is everyone thinks that’s fine and they’re “just having some fun”. We all know it’s disgusting and wrong for grown men to say that to teenage girls, but it’s also wrong for grown women to say that to teenage boys.

This happened to one of my friends yesterday it was fucked up

i hate when ur in public somewhere and something goes mildly wrong/something inconvenient happens and the nearest baby boomer tries to get you to complain with them

what does this even mean

EXAMPLE:

you are in line at mcdonalds. its really busy and the employees are overwhelmed. it’s taking a long time. you are minding your own business. the old man in line next to you says to you, “boy, this is absolutely ridiculous, isn’t it? these kids working just dont know what they’re doing. Or they just dont care…” you awkwardly nod and take a step to the side

It’s called small talk, older people don’t have their nose buried in phones and in recent human history it was customary to talk to people

its not small talk its shit talking employees right in front of them theres a difference between “hows the weather?” and “god these people are terrible at their job and they just dont care i could do this job better when i was their age and they want to be paid 15 DOLLARS AN HOUR???!!! [loud angry grumbling”

and i dont even have a damn smart phone i just dont like making employees feel bad for shit they cant control because i have like, some basic decency and patience
