Alright guys. I know i have a lot of a pent up anger towards my parents. So, I had this idea. I’m going to make a book. Full of letters that trans guys want to write to their parents. And I want to call it Sincerely, Your Son. If you have something you want to say to your parents, please submit it to me fite-me-helen starting with Dear (Parents, Mom, Dad, Parental figures, whatever you want) and end with Sincerely, Your Son. Also if you want you can include your name (chosen or birth) and age, your url, or it can be anonymous. If you see this and aren’t a trans guy (or any other gender that is comfortable being called “Your Son”) or don’t want to submit anything, please reblog this to spread the word. I’d really appreciate it.
I appreciate all rebagels even if you don’t think trans people follow you. I want to get the word out.
Hi Ticcy! I know you have a ton of asks, so I'm so sorry to bother you, but I've been an admirer of your art for a long time, and I've learned a lot by studying your drawings! However, I have a hard time coloring. My colors always look so stale, but your coloring is so warm. What's your coloring process like? Any tips you can give me? Thank you so much! You're amazing!<3
Hello! Thank you!! I’m glad you like my works! /)///(\ About the coloring, I use a lot of levels to give it the right atmosphere… Let’s use John for this, who is very happy to give his face for this explanation
Once flats are done, my first step is put a level in Multiply with a pale yellow color, to give it enough basic warmth
The change is vert subtle, it doesn’t have to be SUPER warmth, just a little bit to give some life to the colors. Then I start to work on the shadows, and I hide the flat colors, to see better the volumes. I use different colors for those, usually they are violet/warmer where the light hits, and blue/colder om the opposite side. (mode: Multiply)
I often add a blue level (mode: Normal) with a very low opacity to not make it too saturated, since with multiply it’s super easy to make the color super darker where there isn’t need to.
Then I work with Overlay levels to add some light on the character. Again, less is the opacity, better it is.(of course it depends on the scene… for these basic pinup I prefer to not exaggerated with shadows and lights)
One problem with the overlay light is that often kills the skin color, so I add some pinkish brushes on the face and hands (mode: Multiply) to make some natural “blush”. After this I pass it on Photoshop, and I play with saturation, colors, hue and other stuff to make the general work looking like I want :)
i find it weird that americans are all like ‘omg it must be so scary to live in australia!!!’ but like?? america is worse??? you guys have school shootings, police brutality, incredibly lax gun laws. australia only has are a few animals that can be deadly when they defend themselves.
As an apartment dweller, this is a game changer. My current apartment doesn’t have a laundry facility and the closest Laundromat about a 30 min bus ride which is just not practical. The mini-washer is a life saver
The panda mini washer hooks up to the sink, is incredibly lightweight (about 28 pounds, so light even I can lift it) and easy to use.
It has a surprisingly large capacity. The basket from the first picture represents about one and a half loads. The jeans took up a whole load while the rest filled the bin only half way.
Here’s the inside. The left is the washer the right is the spin dryer. Yes, it even drys.
Basically you shove your cloths into the washer, fill it up with water and let it go. I use my shower head to fill it up so it goes faster, the sink hook up took about five minutes to fill the whole tub, with the shower head is is down to a minute an a half. I do it in three wash cycles, a five minute rinse with baking soda, a five minute wash with soap and a three minute rinse with water. You have to drain and refill between each cycle so it’s a little more labor intensive than a traditional washer.
That’s the spin dryer. It’s about half the capacity of the washer so one wash takes about two loads to dry. The spinner is much more effective than I was expecting. A three minute spin gets my cloths about 90% dry. I hang them up to air dry for that last 10%.
The machine cost me about 150$. When you factor in two dollars for the bus, five for the machines (per week), the mini-washer pays for its self after only about six months worth of laundry.
I’m not great at expressing emotion, but I’m hoping you can tell how excited I am. Let me just say that the panda mini-washer is great and I highly recommend it to anyone currently using a Laundromat.
Read this and immediately bought it on Amazon for $180. I spend $15 a week to have my laundry done so this pays for itself in 3 months for me. THANK YOU JESUS.
i really hate the effect our hypersexualized society has on young girls. do you know how fucked up it is for an 11 year old girl to be scared of heterosexual sex because she thinks its inevitable? when i was 11, guys told me it would be painful, that penetration was mandatory, and that guys will want blowjobs. when i said i didnt want to do that ever, everyone made fun of me, and my parents told me i’d want that when i got older. guys always look forward to sex but little girls not even in their teens yet are anticipating it in fear because they think it’s mandatory for them to experience pain and humiliation to please men honestly what the fuuuck
if you grew up wealthy, well-to-do, middle-class, or even just “comfortable” please recognize how lucky you are. this isn’t to take away from all the other shit you may have gone through, let’s not pretend that money buys happiness, but in many ways it does guarantee a certain peace of mind.
growing up in poverty, i think, probably sort of ruined my life and my family’s lives and i see the echoes of it and the ramifications of it every day and i don’t know if we will ever truly escape from it and it SUCKS.
