slush puppy
this is actually what you should do for huskies when you live in hot places. Keep their coats trimmed short and give them a pool of ice to play in
Tips for living alone
Buy a bat (I have my old color guard rifle) or similar. Keep it in your room/near your bed.
Get a lock for your bedroom door.
If you’re moving into a new place, change the locks. Who knows who had a key to your place before you.
Keep your phone/a phone in your room.
Get a weather alert system set up. App, weather call, little weather radio that tells you about major weather events.
Adopt a pet
Wave at your neighbors. Take note of the ones that make you uneasy. Watch out for kids always.
Be nice to your mail person. No matter what.
If you choose to drink/etc alone, unplug your wifi router. You’ll thank me.
Have extra seating. People sit when they visit. Your one comfy chair is great for you. Not so great for you + grandma + ur five cousins, your aunt, and a couple others.
Learn the self-Heimlich
When you take a shower, bring your phone to the bathroom in case you fall your phone is no longer halfway across the house, it’s just on your counter
Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Idk what else
If you live in an one-room apartment, put a screen around your bed. It’ll feel less like you visit people, esp. strangers, into your bedroom. Also you’ll feel much safer sleeping in the enclosure.
Cook enough for a few meals each time you cook, and freeze the extra food. That way you’ll prevent things from expiring and it’s great when you don’t feel like cooking or have no time or energy for it.Give a key to someone near you trust, or hid it somewhere few people will look, like up in a tree. Shutting yourself out isn’t nice, esp. not at night.
Put something translucent like curtains or stickers for windows where people can walk past or look in. You’ll feel less watched that way.Put some contant money somewhere in your room. Good to have in case your bag gets lost or stolen.
Feeling lonely? Remember, online contacts are not less valuable.
I would say maybe set reminders for everything too. Taking meds/vitamins, working out, going to sleep, waking up.
Buy a small fan for white noise at night if you’re the kind (like me) that gets anxious at all the little ambient noises that ANY building can supply in the dark.
Don’t watch scary movies in the dark by yourself, with no visitors.
NETFLIX, if you can afford it. It’s also useful because you can watch movies / shows with your online buddies at the same time, miles and states and (sometimes even) countries apart.get an app like safetrek. never walk into allies or empty streets if there is a more populated/well-lit route to your destination. keep emergency contacts in your wallet and a red cross card with your blood type on it in case anything happens. carry a list of medications you’re allergic to, if any.
walking around with a headset or headphones discourages people from yelling at you on the street, and it’s easier to escape from hasslers. however, it’s pretty advisable to not have anything actually playing so you can be aware of your surroundings. if anything, have it at low volume.
if you get grabbed on the street (this used to happen to me a lot), immediately scream, and the person will usually get startled, giving you time to get away.
if you feel like you’re in a really bad place, call someone, or even pretend like you’re calling someone. say where you are. act like you’re planning on meeting up with them. be loud about it. make it seem like someone will notice if you go missing, even for a little bit.
also u should look up manufacturer’s coupons like damn i feel like a successful suburban mom every time i walk into cvs and save 2 dollars on my toothbrushes

THIS IS A LEGENDARY POST IVE ONLY SEEN IN SCREENSHOTS
So a teacher in my friends’ class told them he had grounded his daughter for wearing make up at school, and turns out that the next day every single girl in class had slapped the brightest blood red lipstick they had and there was a line in the bathroom to apply knife sharp, enormous curves of winged eyeliner on everyone and they looked like a legion of warrior goddesses on their way to avenge their sister, so when the teacher came in the room his face just FELL and he kept avoiding the girls staring at him during class, so they started raising their hands and asking questions about the subject to force him to look at them, and if you don’t think girls are amazing when they get down to battle you are missing out on something glorious
im fucking panicking i cant believe 4000 people have died within 6 weeks of being found “fit for work” by the uk government. we’re being killed and no one is doing anything about it. im not saying this for effect or over-exaggerating, but this is genocide against disabled people. this is 4000 people. this is not even the correct number, this is only within a 6 week period and only the ones that we know for sure. there will be thousands more.
What??? Can someone explain this? I’m really concerned and I lack context.
Basically the head of the Department and work and Pensions, Iain Duncan-Smith is committing genocide against the disabled and working class.
His department under his leadership is making people with mental, physical and other issues seek work when they can’t. He has decreed that benefit claimants are scrounges and worse than shit.
He has an ongoing program to exterminate the weak, vulnerable and disabled from Britain.
Under the Geneva Convention this is classed as genocide.
Iain Duncan-Smith is one of the British politician in support of scrapping the Human Rights act, an act he can be held accountable for his hideous act of Genocide and mass murder.
Please use his full name and the words genocide. Tag them together. Post it on as much social media as you can. This needs to become world wide knowledge and people should feel free to contact the UN, European Court of Human Rights and organisations such as Amnesty International.
We, as in the disabled of Great Britain, need this man, and in fact the entire Tory Government to be removed before they cause all of the vulnerable people of this country to die.
Now you maybe wondering how to help, start by reposting stuff like this, tag it with Iain Duncan-Smith, Genocide and War on the poor. And make it big. Make it so information about this Genocide becomes one of the most found searches on google about Britain right now.
We need this to stop now.
Y'all remember how i spent election night literally crying? This is why.
Ok, so a lot of people commenting on this have been confused about the post saying 4,000 people have died vs. the article saying 2,380: this article gives a better breakdown of the statistics as
A total of 81,140 people claiming Employment Support Allowance (ESA), Incapacity Benefit (IB)/Severe Disablement Allowance (SDA)* died between December 2011 and February 2014, a period of 26 months.
Out of those deaths, 50,580 were claiming ESA. Of that number, 7,200 had been in the “Work Related Activity Group”, which means you are believed capable of “taking immediate steps towards being in work”. 3,720 had been declared “fit for work” after undergoing the Work Capability Assessment (WCA, carried out by private outsourcing companies with contracts with the Dept for Work & Pensions).
The rest of the 81k figure was made up of the 30,560 people who died while on IB/SDA, of which 290 had been declared “fit for work”. This makes a total of 4,010 deaths of people who had been declared fit for work. The “died after being declared fit for work/placed in the WRAG” thing is the important bit; the companies that the DWP pays to carry out these assessments is clearly deliberately & maliciously neglecting the people they are supposed to help, in order to make the govt. statistics look good. DWP staff are being given suicide guidelines. The department has even admitted to having “fabricated quotations from fictitious people supposedly taking about their positive experiences of the welfare system” for a leaflet.
So, sorry to the people saying “it’s not as bad as you think, it’s 2,380 rather than 4,000″, but it’s actually worse.
*SDA & IB are more or less the same thing, the latter replaced the former)
thanks pal!
I’ve read the article linked, but I did not see the 3,720 number being quoted. There was an edit to the article (“The number was 2,650, not 4,140.”), so perhaps it was there at the time.
Regardless, each of these people’s lives matter, and them being declared fit for work, or to begin a program bringing them into work and then dying? That’s unacceptable, and it’s covert eugenics against the disabled.

do you ever look at your best friend and just think “someone is going to be so in love with you someday”
This is such a wonderful post. Empower, not compete.
humans are kinda cute we pass stories down generations to instill a sense of wonder in people we’ll never know and we have little bells on our houses to tell each other that we’ve arrived and we shiver when we get cold and we have an endless amount of curiosity and if the night sky is clear our first instinct is to look up at the stars and think about going on big adventures
