American Eagle’s body positive campaign for men was an April Fool’s “joke”. Not only that, but the models that participated were lied to and had no idea that this wasn’t real and was a “prank”.
This is exceptionally cruel. Fat men’s bodies are not a joke.
So many fat people have trauma around the “jokes” that thin people like to play on us.
Thin people think it’s hilarious to pretend that they are romantically attracted to a fat person or that they want to be friends with a fat person.
The punchline is- HA HA! You thought you were a person! But you’re not! LOL!
These “pranks” leave scars, making it hard for their fat victims to believe anyone could ever care about them. These scars last for years, a lifetime.
That is what this “joke” reminded me of. A deep well of trauma from being subjected to the cruelties of thin people.
Of humiliation and torment, over and over, for the sake of thin people’s “jokes”.
I will not ever shop at an American Eagle again.
I stand in solidarity with fat men and masculine people.

my favorite thing that Clark Kent does is try to figure out how a Normal Human Man would respond to getting injured
like if someone shoots at him he can say “oh he missed” and if someone tries to punch him he can kind of roll with it and barely avoid getting hit so they don’t smash their hand while going “oh ow oof what a punch ouch”
but then here comes the Joker with a comically large wooden mallet and now Clark has to figure out how Normal Human Man Clark Kent could conceivably survive this without making it obvious that he is not actually a Normal Human Man. just “oh goddammit i’ve never even seen someone get hit with one of these before, the joker’s probably seen all kinds of people get hit, he knows what this is supposed to look like but i have no goddamn idea i am so fucked”
superman may have the power of flight and super strength but clark kent has the power of improv
I have to admit this is a fascinating insight into the DC world I never realized.
i can’t believe people say snape was the only good slytherin oh my god. slughorn fought against voldemort, regulus black was kind to house elves and stole voldemort’s horcrux, andromeda tonks married a muggle and was a member of the order of the phoenix, narcisa malfoy lied to voldemort about harry being dead, and none of them bullied children for 15 years
