A lot of people are asking why I’m painting spiders. It’s because I’m currently running an experiment where I have two males, one infected and one healthy, courting one female simultaneously (to see whether she will choose the healthy male over the sick one). I have to mark them with paint to keep track of which male is which. You can see the little paint dots on their back.
I really want to know the outcome
Well I’ve run about 10 trials so far, and I can tell you that anecdotally, the males are more interested in courting each other than in courting the female. Definitely not what I was expecting…

When I worked at Disney Feature Animation, I worked in the animation clean-up department. I started as a Breakdown Artist on “Hunchback”. By the time I left animation, I was Key Assistant animator. Often times people would say, ”Oh, so you trace other people’s drawings ?”. Well, we did put really pretty final images on the screen. But no, we did not trace. I went to school at CalArts. I studied character animation. I knew what I was doing. I liked putting characters “on model”, and completing what was needed in a scene I received from the animator. It’s true sometimes artists would not understand what the animators intention was and would end up changing the animation in the process. Not good. But, a good “clean-up” artist could keep the animators vision, understand the animation and keep it all looking consistent. The best scenes happened when an animator and clean up artist had a mutual respect for the role each other played in getting a film finished. Attached you can see a rough drawing along with my cleaned up version. Did I trace? Not exactly. But hopefully I put in the detail I needed, while keeping what the animator had imagined. It takes a LOT of people to make magic happen. Being part of a team working to make a character look like they were all drawn by one hand is an amazing experience. One that unfortunately seems to be gone. #2D

I’ve been thinking of an AU in which Sylladexes aren’t as abstract.
Instead, “Sylladex” is a smart phone app, downloadable for free, courtesy of Skaianet.
It lets the user store their stuff in a convenient, on-the-go cosmic mallet space, much like in the comic, but in a more tangible form.
Fetch Modi would be downloadable in-app, and each would be priced according to their convenience.
For example, the app would give you “Stack” for free, as it is the simplest (and fairly annoying), but you could pay for others. Modi such as “Tree” and “Hashmap” would cost a few dollars, while very convenient and useful Modi such as “Recipe” and “Wallet” would cost upwards of a hundred dollars.
“Encryption” is so heinously awful that Skaianet will actually pay you a dollar to download it.

no one’s stomach looks the same at 8pm as it does at 8am. no one has a chiseled six pack after a day of eating, not even the super fit people u see on tumblr, because ur stomach naturally expands after eating and expecting to have a flat tummy before bed is very unrealistic
no one notices if the bags under ur eyes are bad today. no one pays attention to the bump in ur nose or the zit on ur chin or the piece of hair that u missed when u were straightening. literally no one notices these things except you so stop worrying about it ur gonna be fine
