normally i don’t shit on the way stuff id one in homestuck because i genuinely trust hussie as a storyteller, but its SUPER disappointing to me that jane didn’t get the killing blow on condy
normally here’s where id pull up receipts for how long ive been wanting that to happen but i cant actually find any of the posts on the subject they were all untagged ):
its really the only thing that made sense to me regarding both nanna and jane’s narrative arcs surrounding )(IC and crockercorp …
however, nanna’s whole story is about overcoming and healing so there are some paralells there that i consider completely legitimate
if we don’t get at least one nannasprite and condesce conversation, with her last dying fishy breath (i mean cmon terezi got a buncha sords thru the chest and still had time for a pre death monologue) ill be VERY disappointed …
fingers crossed for a little bit of resolution for nanna and jane before the end i care about them so much
yeah hussie is so good at this shit? thats why its really baffling me that he’s apparently dropped the ball in regards to Jane? I feel like hes gotta resolve that whole thing with nanna telling jane how inspired and proud she was that jane is fulfilling her own lost destiny. ive got faith
its bad enough that bisexuality in women is seen as “attention seeking” or as some sort of “joke” by mainstream Straight™ culture, but when the actual lgbt community deny bisexuals….when lesbian women dont wanna date bi girls bc they doubt their ability to stay faithful and think bi girls are gonna hop on the next straight boy… when straight guys only wanna date bi girls out of some sick fetish… the entire fucking ‘straight passing’ discourse… like. why do you hate bisexual girls so much
dirk strider, literally every single day:
well this has gone completely fucking pear-shaped, there's no other way out of it, you're going to have to decapitate m
You guys don’t understand how ready I was to see Jane kick HIC’s ass. Jane grew up practically worshiping this woman, only to eventually be betrayed and manipulated into bending to her will.
At this point, when my girl stood ready and rearin’ to go, I was so, so proud. She was finally going to get some closure. She was going to take back control of the mind she has had ripped from her again and again. So imagine my frustration and distress when she was no where to be found what appeared to be only seconds later in-comic.
I thought she had been forgotten, and justly so! There was no transition, no explanation. I get so frustrated every time I see fanart of all of the pre-battle close-ups, because I can’t help but feel cheated that Jane did not get one of her own. Don’t get me wrong, Jane did some cool things in [S]Collide. But to me, the snubbing of her character is apparent is ever. She’s made out to be little more than just the party’s healer, which is important, but discounts so many of her skills and abilities. All other characters get amazing battle close ups and displays of both skills and teamwork combos, whereas with Jane, we get this:
The update was good. I liked it. But this, to be frank, disappointed me greatly. Jane is an amazing character and deserves far better than this. I love Roxy, and I am glad that she got her moment to shine in killing the Batterwitch. But it should have been Jane. That, I feel, would have given her character some much-deserved closure. Instead, she is left crumpled at her namesake’s feet. The lack of the clock leads me to believe that she survived, and I hope that is the case, but regardless this flash left a sour taste in my mouth. Every character (excluding, of course, those in the ghost army) reigned victorious. Even Dirk’s death seemed to be mutually decided upon by he and Dave (not to mention, I highly doubt Dave would have done the deed were he not able to retcon it). He took control of his fate, and his death. Jane, by contrast, is the only character who ends the flash fully and completely defeated, her agency ripped from her once more.
So yeah, I’m distressed. Jane deserved so much more than what she got out of this flash. I can only hope this will be remedied in the few updates we have left.
THIS IS A GOOD ANALYSIS It’s important to remember that Jane trusted Crocker Corp. She put her life on the line being the heiress. I understand Roxy was settling unfinished business, but Jane needed closure, too.
I wonder how many people blame Tony for what Obadiah Stane did.
How many have the bald, vile, manipulative, abusive, stereotypical villain, that sold weapons under the table & Howard’s & Tony’s nose for years, just passing their mind when they blame Tony for the bad guys having his weapons.
The guy that wanted power, the guy that sold weapons to the ones that blew up the Maximoffs’ parents, the one that was willing to kill Pepper because Tony found out, the one that fought for the weapons part of SI stay open when Tony said “no, our, my, weapons, have been getting into the wrong hands, and I and SI needs to be accountable for that”, the one you see a full scene of him talking with the people he ordered to kill Tony, but instead they tortured him.
How many just forget this one character just so they feel better about blaming Tony for every little thing wrong in MCU.
How many don’t acknowledge him, how many didn’t even watch the movie (I’ve seen some say they haven’t - then they wonder why Tony wants accountability), how many.
How many forget that Tony’s character arc in the Iron Man trilogy is about accountability and taking action in his wrong doings.
!!!!! @iwillmissyoutony I hope you don’t mind but I’m in a ~mood tonight & this needs to be said.
LISTEN, Tony has been about accountability since his character first appeared.
L I S T E N, in IM1, the man walked off an airplane, got in a car, & drove to a PRESS CONFERENCE he requested be put together in said car AFTER BEING TORTURED FOR WEEKS. HE DIDN’T EVEN BOTHER TO CHANGE. HE WENT DIRECTLY THERE. During said press conference he shut down the most lucrative part of his business knowing FULL WELL that that move would be regarded abysmally by his shareholders. HOWEVER, he knew full well that in good conscience he couldn’t let that continue to operate as it had before all of this came to light.
LISTEN, I know MCU doesn’t shine a light on Tony’s alcoholism *insert bs reason but whatever that’s irrelevant* but the fact of the matter still stands: Tony readily consumes alcohol as a coping mechanism. YOU THINK IT’S NOT ON PURPOSE THAT MOMENTS AFTER CHRISTINE SHOWS HIM THE PICTURES, HE’S STANDING NEXT TO STANE WHO FUCKING ADMITS TO ALL THE BS HE’S DOING BUT HE’S MANIPULATED TONY FOR SO LONG & SO WELL THAT IN THAT MOMENT, BEFORE THE CAMERAS, HE’S POWERLESS, WHEN MOMENTS BEFORE THAT, HE WAS CLEARLY INEBRIATED ON THAT BALCONY WITH PEPPER.
TONY CARRIES SO MUCH GUILT WITH HIM – some of it misplaced – BECAUSE men like Obadiah & his father so expertly deceived, manipulated, & abused him & YET, HE TAKES ON THOSE CONSEQUENCES AS HIS OWN.
