so zombizou was a ride from start to finish, much heavier than weve been getting thus far this season, and chockablock of shipping fuel but it also gave us two very important pieces of information
mme bustier is the best character, everyone else can go home
she has really fucking weird eyebrows
joking (not really)! but actually, regarding hawkmoth:
1. hawkmoth can force a person into akumatization.
no verbal contract required, at most maybe a little bit of sweet-talking (which im not convinced wasnt just for hawkmoth to justify his own actions)– and youve got an akuma, out to get the miraculous, whether or not the person agreed to help in the first place
(edit: yes aurore tried to fend off the akuma when it came towards her in stormy weather, but once it and hawkmoth got into her head, she explicitly agreed to help hawkmoth. mme bustier never did)
and 2. hawkmoth can force the negative emotions required for akumatization…or more dangerously, the mere appearance of an akuma, at this point, is all it takes to ignite enough fear to allow hawkmoth to take over
akumas have caused enough damage that they are a well-known fear in paris at this point…and it might allow hawkmoth to skip that first step of finding new victims. instead of waiting around for chloe to step on someones shoe or something, whats stopping hawkmoth from simply…sending out a dozen akumas to find whoevers scared enough to latch on to? boom- twelve akuma attacks at once.
maybe hawkmoth needs that negative emotion to even ‘’’evilize’ the butterfly in the first place, you say? fine- why not start off a single akuma attack, wait a few minutes for the panic to set in…and there you go. a city full of people afraid enough to be made into akuma.
remember how much trouble ladybug and chat noir have had with just one?
edit: well as of syren its confirmed that hawkmoth can send out more than one akuma, but whether he knew the first akuma would be dealt with in time before the other activated or not, is unconfirmed
So I’m at the bus terminal and this guy (who’d been following me and hovering over me for 10 minutes) comes up to me and says “hey beautiful. Can I talk to you?” So I said “no thank you.” He goes “I just want to speak to you, though.”
And I said “yeah I know that and I’m not interested in talking to a strange man at a bus terminal. Please leave me alone.”
So he stands there watching me. Finally he says “listen, there’s no need to be difficult. I approached you politely like a gentleman so I don’t see why you’re saying no. Now just let me speak to you.”
I said “nobody’s being difficult my guy. You asked a question, I gave an answer so we’re done.”
Then he says “yeah but the answer you gave me made no sense. Why don’t you want to talk to me? You don’t know what kind of person I am. You’re judging me before you know me. You’re being ignorant and prejudiced so”-
Just then this other guy who’d been sitting close to me said “my nigga shut the fuck up! I saw you following her and stalking her like a fucking animal or some shit, like you didn’t think she didn’t notice? She’s probably scared of your predatory ass and I don’t blame her. Mans need to understand you don’t follow girls and shit. That shits corny.”
So the guy goes “yo, mind your fucking business.”
And the other dude says “nah because I see you harassing this girl and as a man this becomes my business. You thinking you were polite doesn’t mean a girl has to speak to you. Be nice because you’re nice, don’t use that please and thank you shit and think somebody has to speak to you. You’re not a “gentleman if you don’t respect her. Take the L and go catch your bus you fucking creep.”
So the guy starts swearing and then walks away. The guy who’d defended me is like “you okay tho? Like real talk I don’t really like men because of shit like that. They’re fucking predators man. I do what I can when I’m able to for women because you don’t deserve to be hunted.”
I’m actually glad we don’t live in an RPG world. We really take for granted being able to coexist with most animals. I don’t wanna have to pull out a longsword and beat the shit out of six crabs and two snails while a starfish snipes me with magic bullets every time I go to the beach.
- The film “Sucker Punch” had a sex scene between a male and female where the female character was in control of her own sexuality.
- The MPAA would only allow it after it was edited to look like the girl wasn’t into it and the guy was taking advantage of her.
- Note that if the sex scene had been kept as originally planned and filmed, then the film would have been given an “R” rating - but with the guy taking advantage it was a PG-13.
- The director didn’t want to send that message so he just cut it completely.
If that doesn’t say something about the media and women/female sexuality then I don’t know what will.
The actress who played said female character, Emily Browning, stated:
“I had a very tame and mild love scene with Jon Hamm. It was like heavy breathing and making out. It was hardly a sex scene… I think that it’s great for this young girl to actually take control of her own sexuality. Well, the MPAA doesn’t like that. They don’t think a girl should ever be in control of her own sexuality because they’re from the Stone Age.
I don’t know what the fuck is going on and I will openly criticize it, happily. So essentially, they got Zack to edit the scene and make it look less like she’s into it. And Zack said he edited it down to the point where it looked like he was taking advantage of her. That’s the only way he could get a PG-13 (rating) and he said, ‘I don’t want to send that message.’ So they cut the scene!
I’m torn. I want an ‘R’ (rating) because we can get a lot of cool scenes into it, but then I like the idea of younger girls being able to see it.”
Actually there’s a great documentary from about ten years ago called ‘This Film Is Not Yet Rated’ and they go into depth about the strangeness and the sexism surrounding the MPAA, in an interview for the documentary, the director of the LGBT film, ‘But I’m A Cheerleader’ complains that her was slapped with an NC-17 (which means no one under 17 can see the film, period) initially partially because of a scene where the main character is masturbating over her clothes, but ‘American Pie’ was already rated R (meaning anyone under 17 can see it if accompanied by someone of age) and the freaking TRAILERS showed the main character masturbating into an apple pie with his pants and underwear clearly between his ankles. There’s a later segment where they show multiple side by side comparisons of scenes of masturbating characters in films rated R vs rated NC-17, and only consistent difference was that R films featured men getting off and the NC-17 ones showed women doing the same. Similar angles, similar elements surrounding each scene, but one was a woman so NC-17!
Another great bit from the documentary, was that multiple films were slapped with NC-17 because they had sex scenes where a woman’s face was shown while she orgasmed, and the MPAA insisted these scenes were shown too long and were therefore “offensive.” You can’t make this shit up people
