So according to computer scientists, the election results might have been hacked in 3 important swing states. xx
“The scientists, among them J. Alex Halderman, the director of the University of Michigan Center for Computer Security and Society, told the Clinton campaign they believe there is a questionable trend of Clinton performing worse in counties that relied on electronic voting machines compared to paper ballots and optical scanners”
Donations have slowed down hugely, so I figured this needs to come back.
In answer to something I’ve seen floating around: Yes, the goal has gone up twice. No, this isn’t shady at all.
They set goals based on the estimated cost of a recount in each state in turn. I first saw this page when the target was 2.5 mil, and even then it clearly explained that, with fees, attorney costs, recount watchers, etc factored in, the total bill for all three states was expected to be 6-7 million. They set the goals so that if theyfailed they could still do something. Now they’re on track to do everything.
If we can get them the rest of the way there.
also it is not uncommon to set a low goal to start with, then move up to another benchmark once that goal is met. it makes the goal look more attainable, and when people see a goal almost met they tend to want to help it get there.
but the info has been there from the beginning, folks.
terrifying monstrosity: who could possibly love me when I am a terrifying monstrosity me, stretched out on the table in front of them with a rose between my teeth: well
I just got a job as a transcriber. if you have a strong command of grammar in english (or other languages), you can transcribe audio for websites like transcribeme or rev, and they send money directly to your paypal weekly.
there’s no interview, you can work as much or as little as you want, and you make $20 per hour of audio you transcribe. you just have to pass a relatively short exam and they send you verification of your work account within a couple days. it’s good shit
Could you maybe send a link please? I’m in a pretty bad work situation and you’ve just offered a potential lifeline.
I’ve never used transcribeme, but I am working with Rev pretty consistently these days and you get $30 per audio hour with them.
NOTE: This does not mean you would get paid $30/hour. If you take a 30 min audio file you will get paid $15 no matter how fast or slow you type it up, so the faster you type the better. I’ve gotten to the point where I can spend 4 minutes typing for every audio minute, so I average about $7.50/hour, which considering I’m doing it at home in my pajamas while my kid is napping or at school is a pretty good deal.
My mother would gossip to the other parents about my stomach pains, the rashes, my bowel movements and bed wetting when i was a child.
I begged her to not share these things but she would insist maybe one of those catty women would know a way to help.
My grandmother laments my strict diet and shelves of medication to her bible group and I simmer when they make jokes at dinners.
My father complains about the medical bills to his buddies, I hear him on the phone telling a man I’ve never met about the anxiety attacks I have always hidden from my friends.
My sister explains to the people ar the grocery store why I walk so slowly, why I limp, why my breathing is so loud even when i ask her to stop.
My grandfather asks people to pray for my crooked spine, my failing lungs, the way my joints have begun to give up.
They do it because they need to explain why I’m not normal, they do it to vent about the burden.
They say it’s public information since anyone could see.
But that woman in the store didn’t need to know about my bowel movement when i was 13 and burning red with embarrassment.
The church ladies didn’t need to know the amount of pills i take in a day.
I deserved an increment of privacy.
But if you’re disabled in any way you are seen as a small child. Private information is nonexistent, they speak like you can’t hear them, like it doesn’t matter how embarrassed you may be.
