Whether or not you believe this current incident was a hoax, let’s not act like things like this don’t happen.

A slur is when a word’s principal colloquial usage is intended to target a certain group in a violent manner and stupid and dumb are used in relation to disability like 0.1% of the time. It’s almost always referring to people who say shit completely out of their lane and realm of expertise and it’s actually useful language. It’s like, I’ve been called disgusting for being gay b4 but disgusting is mainly intended to refer to other stuff and it’s not homophobic to use it in a context that has nothing to do with gay ppl. Tired of seeing ppl getting hassled over insulting an idea using the only language that can describe the negative quality of the idea. Like, guys. R***rded is a slur. Stupid and dumb are not damn slurs.

the most painful social interactions are when you miscalculate someone’s meme literacy and reference something and the person/group doesn’t get it and u have to half-heartedly explain it knowing FULL well it’s 0% funny if people don’t have the full convoluted context of the joke and u feel the flames of hell start to lick at ur feet as they all give u a pity laugh
We didn’t have a word for our, as you guys call, gay/lesbian people. So we coined that word as an umbrella for all our tribes. We never said, “Well, you’re transgender. You’re bisexual. You’re lesbian.” We never knew those terms. Those are all from Western culture, you know, LGBTQ and all that. So on some level, it’s about getting rid of labels. Those terms were forced upon us.

although the people of Aleppo were more or less evacuated willingly, this was essentially a forced displacement - they were always the intended victims of the violent attacks/massacre, and this was purposely the outcome all along
