[pre-gifs] “…So, she [Paris Hilton] was a very wealthy woman, [initially] not that well known and then she gets to mega-stardom. How? The sex tape. Which was made by her boyfriend at the time, who was married, and thirteen years her senior. She sued to try and stop it [the tape’s circulation] and she couldn’t and it became the best selling sex tape for two years on the porn market.”
Dr. Gail Dines addressing porn culture and rape culture’s intersecting roles in patriarchy
Well, that makes a lot of sense and now I feel kind of mean.

gyzym: oh god, suddenly want i to write cecil/carlos sex where carlos one day is like, “GODDAMN IT I’M BLINDFOLDING YOU, YOU NEED TO FOCUS”

gyzym: and cecil turns out to be really really really really into being touched by something he cannot see, because like: he would be.

“The average prison sentence for men who kill their intimate partners is 2 to 6 years. Women who kill their partners are sentenced, on average, 15 to 17 years. A pair of Maryland cases vividly illustrates this inequality in sentencing. In one case, a judge in Baltimore County, Maryland sentenced Kenneth Peacock to 18 months for killing his unfaithful wife. The very next day, another judge in the same county sentenced Patricia Ann Hawkins to three years in prison for killing her abusive husband. Significantly, the prosecutor in the Peacock case requested a sentence twice as long as the one imposed, while the prosecutor in the Hawkins case requested one-third of the sentence imposed.”
“As many as 90% of the women in prison today [2008] for killing men had been battered by those men.”

Back from the dead. I wanted to draw a more Bro-ish looking Dirk and guardian Dave so I combined them into one because I can’t resist some Striders together
I wanted to share some knowledge I picked up during 8 months spent unemployed. This is a conglomerate from personal experience, trial and error, and input from other friends who have been through the same.
This is really long, and I hope none of it is really painfully obvious, but I hope it helps somebody out.
