I don’t want Homestuck to turn into the kind of fandom where you can’t like your favorite character without fear of bullying. If you like Vriska, good she has a good arc and is pretty. If you like Aranea, oh my yes things got interesting for her recently. If you like Gamzee, yes he is written very well isn’t he. Hell, you can like Lord English and people shouldn’t give you crap.

So, let’s talk about the level of discourse currently at play in the Homestuck fandom. Who are we to blame for the tornado of stupid?

well, about terezi and gamzee’s kismessi, it’s not like it “came out of no where”, I mean. ever since before they entered the medium terezi had been trying to get into a black room relationship with gamzee. we see it clearly in their first conversation, terezi even goes as far as expressing anger(?) or at least some disconfort about the fact that gamzee won’t hate her nor get mad at her. so you see, the whole terezi waxing black for gamzee has been stated since verry early in the comic. and again, when gamzee went sober we could see terezi’s inclinations to a black room romance with him (you can literally see a spades during the 5x showdown combo animation, look it up) that only got stronger because of gamzee’s guile and cunning during his sober times. from here we see that terezi has allways had black room feelings for the juggalo. now, moving on to more recent times. remember in that flash, when rose talked to gamzee and he clearly stated that the onlky reason he was in a kissmesis with terezi was because “she got all up and hatin” him for “the motherfuckin pice of shit clown” he was. in otherwords, gamzee only entered a black room romance because he felt guilty for killing his friends and felt that he needed some punishment. terezi just happened to be the best one around. and now let’s think, terezis downward spiral only started -after- her talk with aranea (coincidentially, about the time gamzee was speculated to have started being mind-controlled by aranea). now, from what we can gather, gamzee and terezi were already in a kismesis before that so can you honestly say that a gamzee in his pure, sober insane juggalo delusional state was an abuser? I disagree. I’m not saying gamzee is an inocent baby, he most certanly is not. he is a murderous clown, and he knows it. but he feels guilty about it, and his kissmesis with terezi was serving as punishment, so why? with what point would he abuse the person punishing him if that’s what he wanted? well, a mind controlled gamzee wouldn’t think about this, he would only do what he was told to! hence my theory that gamzee’s abuse (IF there was ever any reall abuse, it was never really stated in cannon) only started from the moment aranea’s mind controll started to serve her plans. how it would serve her plans to have terezi get her sigth back we are yet to see (let’s not forget that she is from beforus, and that there is also the posibility that she did it, not to further her plans, but because it was her social duty to do it no matter what) so yeah, there are alot of things we are yet to know, but from my point of vew there was plenty of fore shadowing on that one kismessis (remember, hussie never pulls shit out of his ass, especially with an imortant (specifically THE most important) character like that) sorry for the long post, I have a tendency to ramble

You don’t have to realize that you are being abusive to be abusive. I’m sure I’ve emotionally manipulated/abused people before, and I know I would never, ever, actually do that if I realized I was at the time. 

Every one of terezi’s reactions screams of emotional abuse. The way a single line of gamzee’s can instantly make her feel insane guilt and stop her anger, and suddenly it’s about HIS pain. Her seeing that the relationship is a bad one and yet how she cannot pull away. The feelings of being worthless, or his words cutting into places where she previously held so much confidence, all of this screams guilt tripping and emotional manipulation/abuse. 

If he’s being mind controlled by Aranea, which i don’t believe he was, this doesn’t change the situation for Terezi. Just that it was Aranea being emotionally manipulative/abusive.
