if you think someone is really good at something, tell them, don’t joke about them being awful at it and assume they’ll know it’s sarcasm

if someone makes you really happy just say so, don’t pretend to hate them and jokingly insult them and assume they know you’re 100% joking

especially with young people, like praising young people for their good qualities is so important for their development
