i feel like everyone knows at least one pair of people who are super serious and intimidating and weird but they’re also best friends and every time they’re together they’re just like
So I see these two depicted as murderous entities a lot, but to me that doesn’t make much sense. When you think about it they didn’t kill a single person in either video, and didn’t even threaten to kill them. What I think may be a bit more terrifying.
I think they’re members of a race of monsters who disguise themselves as inanimate objects. Now, once taking on this disguise, they cant come out of it, and it becomes their permanent form, so they have to choose what they become wisely. Once they choose their form, they develop powers to manipulate and promote the essence of whatever their form represents. A hammer would have powers of building, and a couch would promote laziness.
But these monsters, what they feed on is whats important. They feed on fear. And they don’t even know that they do. Its instinctual and accidental. They never intend to scare people, but they just do. They can only communicate through song, as music opens up peoples emotions, making them more susceptible to fear. These songs will just be an expression of who they are. You see, whatever powers they get, based on their form, will become their sole passion.
They begin by trying to let others share on their passion, intensifying the demonstration of it, until they feel their victims subjects are ready to share in its full power. However, the extent to which their power is used is too much for their subjects to handle, and causes the fear the monsters feed on.
After feeding, they go into a dormant state to digest the fear, and during this time they are no different from the object they appear to be. The digestion process takes anywhere from a few days to many years, so they can re-awaken at any time.
Also: Any fear they cause, whether in person or through recording, feeds them and lengthens the dormancy period. The videos were created to keep them at bay for as long as possible. Every person scared by DHMIS keeps them asleep longer.
like imagine if you’d never seen a dog and you saw a saint bernard and you were like, what’s that and then someone was like, thats a dog. and then you saw a chihuahua and you were like ok whats that and they were like, that’s a dog. wouldn’t you feel lied to? wouldn’t you sense that something was amiss
