"Think about it. When they first met at Madame Malkin’s, Draco tried to impress Harry. He didn’t know who Harry was and, no offence, but Harry was more than shaggy dressed. That means he was undoubtedly not Draco’s class. But Draco didn’t care. When they met again on the train, Draco offered his friendship. Harry refused. And that’s when the teasing began. Look at it this way: if Harry would be a girl, Draco would pull on his pigtails, would poke him in the ribs and would lift his skirt. But Harry is a boy, so Draco copes with his feelings in a different way. He follows Harry around to blackmail him somehow, he always starts a fight and he is mean to Harry’s friends to rise a reaction out of him. If that isn’t love or at least liking, I don’t know what else is."

the idea of people having to be ‘useful’ is just so gross, like people do not exist to be used

having to produce something and have a use is a capitalist ideal and not an intrinsic part of humanity

just by being alive you are human and you are worth something and you can never be useless

ANNIE - Official Trailer (2014)

I’m not gonna lie, I teared up a little bit when I saw the trailer.

I’m sooo excited for this… cheese fest and all!

this is so freaking adorable and yes i cried. I can’t wait.

I CAN’T WAIT

So I’ll probably get slammed for this (because, tumblr) but here goes anyway.  Ask box is open, slam away.

When the original Little Orphan Annie was written, chronologically we were a lot closer to a time where there was a strong bias against Irish people.  By making Annie red haired, it was implied that she was of Irish descent, and by extension, the audience would have inherently known that was part of the bias against her.

Changing Annie’s race to African American replicates this same dynamic in modern society, and that’s a big part of why so many people were upset by it.  A BLACK orphan?!  Nooooooo, keep her white and red haired and cute I DON’T WANT TO DEAL WITH HOW THIS IS MAKING ME UNCOMFORTABLE.

Casting Annie as black in 2014 is a much more true to the original character than casting her as a caucasian red head.

THIS IS ALL SHADES OF PERFECT

Reblogging because of the excellent commentary. also, this trailer is adorable.

No not all feminists are like this, but when you have shit tons of people that represent a group in an insane way, it makes the entire group look ridiculous. This is why I don’t need feminism, I can fight for women’s rights without labeling myself in a group with people like this in it.

whenever people make fun of people with phobias and/or triggers by saying “how do you go outside”

it’s like. yes? you are beginning to see the problem here. thats the funny thing about disability, there are a lot of things people are unable to do without stress or pain, if they are able to at all. it’s an amazing concept really.

“What were you wearing?”

I wore a red dress to work today. It has a zipper at either side of my chest that can unzip and reveal a thin strip of skin. A coworker, without warning, tried pulling at the zipper and when it wouldn’t zip, instead revealed a good portion of my collarbone and shoulder as well as my bra strap. An hour later, the same coworker came up and told me to not wear clothes with zippers because he’ll go right ahead and unzip them. I shot back that unzipping me without my permission is sexual harassment. Apparently a manager heard and berated my coworker. At the end of my shift, my coworker told me that my little comment got him in trouble and that he no longer feels comfortable saying anything to me other than “hello” and “goodbye.”

I am supposed to feel guilty for pointing out that he can’t lay his fucking hands on me.

IF HE TELLS YOU NOT TO WEAR CLOTHES WITH ZIPPERS AGAIN UNZIP THAT FUCKERS PANTS AND SHOVE HIS DICK IN THE PENCIL SHARPENER

^^^ yes, perfect, do just that. Tell him you will do that, too.

hi i’m the person in the picture. i realize this looks pretty bad but let me explain what is actually happening in the picture above. my friend who posted this took the picture as i was painting myself to cosplay the wendigo from hannibal.

here’s what the character from the show looks like (minus the flower crown)

and here’s a photo of the finished cosplay (the one in the middle)

i just wanted to make this clear because i can understand how the original photo can be misinterpreted.

i love to watch people on this website get up on their soapbox, just to be kicked the fuck off because they’re prematurely bitching about something.
