its incredibly boring and annoying to hang out with ppl who do nothing but say how much they hate themselves. grow past it

im not saying this to sound superior either bc i have Been That Person but ever since i. stopped doing it i have much healthier and more enjoyable interactions

also i speak from the experience of both being this person for a long time and interacting with people who do this- it’s incredibly grating on the people around you. if you can’t hold a conversation without inevitable bringing it back to you and how much you hate yourself, it gets incredibly tiring incredibly fast to try to have a casual talk. it can also be damaging for people who ARE actively trying to recover to be surrounded by nothing but negativity and fatalistic nihilism (again, speaking from experience).

It’s also in front of customers. This is not good practise. If you work in hospitality/tourism it is seen as incredibly lazy and improper. And if I walk into a retail shop then I want the retail workers to acknowledge I’m there, not just sat there looking down at their phone not even bothering to serve me.

Ah yes, sitting is lazy. Unlike standing for hours at a time which is completly healthy and doesn’t hurt at all.
