Oh god, I sense another “#IStandWithJonTron” brewing.
what happened here?
Mark said “its not women shouldn’t be hit, people shouldn’t hit people” or something then feminists went nuts on him and its going to be another Matt the comet guy case because Markiplier is sensitive and not a bad guy but yeah
He basically said that if a woman hits a man that the man should be able to defend himself and hit her back but he did also say that no one should hit anyone, he doesn’t approve of violence and he’s had to deal with an abusive partner in the past, SJWs just nitpicked part of his statement to make him look bad :|
Never watched too much Markiplier but I feel this is necessary regardless
I’ve never really watched markiplier but i know he is a great guy with a great view on the world and I full support him and this statement
okay but like real talk tho i watched the episode in question, and the fact that there are some people latching onto it the way they have just proves that some people actively look for things to be upset about.
Fuck people, like for real.
Markiplier is seriously a super great guy. He’s the only Let’s Player I’ve seen who takes issues like depression very seriously and he has a high respect for the games he plays.
He’s not just “another youtuber”, this guy does not deserve hate.
I honestly can’t believe that out of literally any other Youtuber, you pick Markiplier to pick on. One of the most gentle and kind Youtubers there are.
Idk, maybe they’re reading about the history around them.
Have you ever been to the Louvre? There are a shit-ton of apps you can download to help you learn the history and meaning behind the paintings. Like, when you walk in, after you go through the security scan, there are ACTUALLY shit-ton of advertisements and suggestions on how to download learning apps, buy their digital walk-through. or take a guided tour. They’re quite happy to stuff tech down your throat (and your wallet) to enhance your experience. (it also makes it easier on the staff, to take smaller groups. Some people just like wandering on their own)
When I went through there, there was a class, and the teacher told them to write down notes. Many kids hadn’t brought notepads, and when the teacher said ‘write this down’ they all shuffled their phones out, and tapped away on a ‘notebook’ app.
Sure, these kids in the pic might be taking a break after walking through a three-hour tour of learning and history and magnificent art, by texting their friends or vegging out on facebook…(and I know where that painting is, in that museum. It’s pretty damn far from the front entrance. Took me an hour to get there, and I wasn’t even with a guided tour)
or maybe they’re learning more than your technophobic ass ever will from just silently staring at a painting without referencing the wealth of knowledge stored within the internet.
More than half of my college classes encouraged us to have laptops out - either to write notes, or to reference sources that the teacher was lecturing on. Often, people with tablets would have their E-books open, writing on the digital pages, or if they didn’t have a touch-screen, highlighting and notating bits of text. One of my professors specifically asked us to bring our tech to class, so we could show him sources for when we wanted to discuss a certain topic that was relevant to the day’s lesson.
Conclusion? Fuck off about how ‘technology is ruining our youth/destroying learning. The internet has encouraged my thirst for knowledge more than 99% of my teachers have. It has enhanced classrooms since we learned how to source online journals, and made any school library a thousand times bigger than they could afford, had they only stuck to paper and binding.
This is why I’m terrified to admit that I’ve been a victim of sexual assault.
Don’t fucking ignore this. Read every single one of these comments. This is the world we live in.
Fun fact: Men don’t get erections strictly when they’re aroused. You know what can trigger an erection? Fear. Adrenaline. Even fucking waking up in the morning. People with penises can, in fact, be raped.
We go to a private boarding school in Lake Tahoe, California.
Sam is pan-sexual and myself, well, I am a bit confused of who I am at the moment.
Last night, our school had a formal dinner and I asked Sam to be my date a week ago, he said yes!
The night of the formal dinner, Sam asked our assistant headmaster if he could wear a dress, he said no before he had even finished the question. When Sam and I showed up to the dinner, we were holding hands and I was also holding the roses Sam had gave to me. Sam was wearing mascara and lipstick. Our assistant headmaster freaked out and told Sam if he didn’t get the makeup off, he would be in massive trouble. Sam and I went back to the room to get his makeup off and came back down. The whole night, he was telling us how bizarre and weird we were. The night ended and the morning rose. We both have our first class of Friday with our assistant headmaster. He told the both of us if our relationship went any further, he would take us behind the barn and beat us. He also told us if we were in public school, we would have our dicks chopped off by other kids. After an entire period of being teased, Sam and I got together and thought we needed to do something about this. So here I am, Julien Nicol, 15 years old, asking for your help to spread this around and have it know that California allows private schools to discriminate against people with certain sexual preferences.
I am speechless. I am speechless that two hours away from where I live, over a hundred and forty children have died. I am speechless. My brothers, my sisters. They aren’t with us anymore, and I am speechless. I can’t tell you how much I’ve cried today, I can’t tell you how depressed, disgusted, sad, horrified and shocked I am at this act of terrorism in the name of ‘God’.
It’s numbing to even try and think about what the mothers and fathers and brothers and sisters feel like right now - I can’t even imagine what it’s like, to send your child to school asking him to do his very best on his mid year, telling him you believe in him, telling him not to leave a single question empty. He left the world instead.
Please don’t think we aren’t important because we aren’t from the well known Western countries. Please don’t let the lives lost be defined by race, language, nation. Please don’t think we deserve this because our oppressors and us, we share a religion - because if these terrorists are ‘muslims’, then I am not. (And believe me when I tell you they’re not. They don’t know anything about Islam, because if they did they would hesitate to use harsh words, let alone guns.)
It takes two seconds to make a prayer. It takes two seconds to spread the word. It takes two seconds to make someone see that the oppressed and oppressors are different, even if they share a religon.
I hope you will remember that little, innocent children and teachers did not ask for this. I hope you will remember that a teacher got burned alive trying to save the students. I hope you will remember that raising your voice against evil is the first step to eliminate it from our society.
The Sydney Siege is over, and while it could have ended a lot worse, tragedy is still upon us.
While the gunman is dead, two hostages were killed.
Tori Johnson, 34, was the manager of the Lindt Cafe in which the siege was taking place. Johnson is being reported as a hero, as he had attempted to wrestle the gun away from the gunman just before police raided the cafe.
Katrina Dawson, 38, was a lawyer and mother of three. Our thoughts go out to her family, especially her children, as no one should have to lose a mother at such a young age.
Four more are grievously injured, and we wish them all a speedy and smooth recovery. Please keep all the victims, their families, and their friends in your thoughts and prayers today as Australia, as a country, tries to come back from this horrific incident.
Remember, the actions of this man are only the actions of this man. He does not represent the Muslim community, he doesn’t not represent the Islamic religion. Do not take your anger out on any Muslim you may know, and Islam is a religion that promotes and practices peace, and the actions of this man cannot be blamed on the religion.
