I wasn’t asked to a single dance in high school and didn’t have a serious romantic relationship until I was 22. And like, yeah that shit hurt when I was younger. I had a lot of fears that I was unlovable and that I didn’t deserve to be happy. And every time I would try to talk to anyone about it, the conversation became, “you’ll find someone”, when it should have been, “you don’t need a relationship or a date, you’re lovable & complete & beautiful on your own”.
So yeah, please normalize young people not dating, and please stop shaming them for it. There’s more to life than romance, despite what the media wants us to think.

Like yes hello you don’t have to like Lotor as a character in the slightest but,
The one interaction we’ve seen between him and Haggar involves her fearlessly violating his boundaries and acting like she’s completely in the right to do so and Lotor suggesting this isn’t new, either.
One of the writers, talking about Lotor’s voice direction, literally describes Lotor as someone who has experienced a lot of things he doesn’t want to talk about.
The four people Lotor relates to are minority women, one of whom is disabled, and all of whom are derided and looked down upon by the main empire.
And outside of those four people (and one cat) Lotor trusts absolutely nothing and no one, is constantly reevaluating his environment and rapidly becomes unhappy every time something doesn’t make sense even if it seems to not make sense in his favor.
His fighting style is built heavily around evasion.
His position on the cruiser, which he’s in for most of his screentime, puts his back to a wall.
He’s profoundly scornful of excessive aggression.
The one time Lotor’s father is mentioned to him without him bringing it up first he immediately snaps at the person that he’s not his father.
He was exiled.
The only reason he was allowed out of exile is because Haggar wanted him to be a puppet ruler while Zarkon recovered. When he’s pursuing his own agenda she acts like he’s being irresponsible.
He was introduced posing as a gladiator when all of the gladiators we’ve seen have been slaves.
TL;DR Lotor has been abused, at bare minimum by Haggar while Zarkon ignored it, and most likely by both of them.

I have a bone to pick with the Sheith fandom. Everywhere in this fandom I see Keith freaking out about Shiro, which I will admit is completely canon. But you know what else is canon?
Shiro’s bias for Keith.
I know that it’s seems subtle, but it’s not at the same time. I rewatched Voltron Season 1 and 2 before Season 3 because I noticed that I didn’t pay a whole lot of attention to Shiro the first time around. A lot of his lines are pretty generic-leader-type, but during me rewatch, I noticed that his character cues weren’t. So, without further ado, here begins my long meta post about how Shiro is pining after Keith.
Hello! I had a thought I haven't seen around the sheith fandom but what if, in the pre-kerberus days, Keith was friends with Matt (and dating Shiro) and Pidge heard all about Keith and Shiro from Matt that when she joined the garrison she expected to find Keith there and get his help with her investigation but he was gone and there goes one of the few people that knew her brother that she could bond with and who would have felt that loss too

It turns out they all know Keith, or know of him, the same way they know of Shiro–he’s infamous.
But Pidge doesn’t figure that out until later, after they tear a trail across the desert on the back of a hoverbike that’s straining under their combined weight while she holds on to Shiro like her life depends on it. It does, because if she loses Shiro she loses her chance, she loses Matt and her Dad and everything she’s been searching for.
That’s the first clue. She’s not the only one that’s been searching.
The black haired boy driving them over cliffs like he’s born to it has one eye on Shiro the whole time, like he’s ready to pull up in a dead stop and grab him if Pidge’s grip slips an inch. She holds tight, and considers him. He drives like fighter pilot flies, and no one missed the Garrison med techs knocked out cold, or the look in his eyes when he shouldered Shiro’s weight like it was something precious–no one missed the explosions he set off.

Do you think the team has clued in or at least questioned the nature of Keith's feelings towards Shiro, judging by how he reacted to his loss? (Assuming this is where the creators want to take this.) They seem to take it for a fact that Keith is hit the hardest about Shiro's disappearance, and they're definitely not incorrect. I wonder if you think Allura also picked up on that, considering her choice of words to Keith in S3E1?
like… whatever his feelings for shiro are in canon, they love each other. that’s undeniable. and i think allura definitely picked up on that:
it’s a peculiar and specific way to frame that scene. and then we get this line in season 3:
obviously she’s talking about losing her family first and foremost, but it does seem like there’s a little bit of double meaning there. out of all of them, i think she has the best idea how much shiro means to keith. (just in general, allura seems to be closer to keith maturity wise than the other paladins.) that scene also shows how much lance and pidge idolize shiro, and it think that’s why their message doesn’t really get through to keith. he doesn’t idolize shiro–he loves him. the other paladins don’t really seem to fully understand that yet.
