Also can those nasty pedophiles stop using the concept of “age of consent” wrong? Age of Consent does not mean you can fuck a child if they are above the age of consent. It means kids from that age can manifest consent when having sex WITH KIDS AROUND THE SAME AGE.
Like, for example, if the age of consent is 13, it means kids who are 13-14-15 can have sex without it being considered a crime; but a kid who is 12 CANNOT manifest that consent and this another (older or younger) kid making sexual advances on them would be considered cocsa.
Adults can only legally have sex with kids if, for example, the adult is still a teen, aka if the adult just turned 18 and they’re having sex with a 17 yo. That’s widely considered admissible and it’s an exception to the rule.
So, no, you 20-something and older creeps fetishizing 13-14-15 yo girls (real or fictional) are still pedophiles, and you’re trying to use a legal argument that you:

My abusive mother just told me that she “accidentally” threw away my passport when she was spring cleaning.

Bruce Wayne ending up as Gotham’s favoured son because he may be an idiot, but he’s a cheerful idiot, and he donates tons to charity and genuinely loves Gotham and actually, truthfully does put a lot back into the city. And his instagram is a bright ray of sunshine, and honestly there are a lot of people in the city who get surprisingly defensive of their Dumb Carefree Playboy because, okay, sure, every month or so Bruce Wayne falls off a yacht or sleeps with a reporter or whatever. The man clearly never met a healthy coping skill even once in his life.
But as far as news regarding Gotham’s prominent citizens go, Bruce’s ‘scandals’ are so normal that it’s downright refreshing. When a headline has ‘Bruce Wayne’ in the title, you know you’re either going to read some Celebrity Gossip level non-drama, or else something to do with a charity. Maybe he’s been kidnapped again, but that’s only happened a few times. Bruce Wayne news is like the Gotham equivalent to special reports about dogs who rescue their owners from drowning, or raccoons who’ve figured out how to get past the new self-locking garbage can lids.
And there’s something weirdly reassuring about following his twitter. Like, if Bruce Wayne is tweeting about a really neat old tree he just saw, things must at least be sort of alright.
(Meanwhile, Bruce’s social media persona is 100% him flanderizing Clark.)

WHAT THE HELL KIND OF BATMAN HAVE YOU BEEN WATCHING?

The best part is that most of the lore, especially Batman: The Animated Series, gets to a point in Batman’s career when everyone asks the question of why someone would rob a bank in Gotham when they know that if they approached Batman, and coincidentally Bruce Wayne, they could get the help they needed.
That’s the whole point of Batman. Granted there have been modernized adaptations that paint him out to be nothing more than a growling, punching, antihero. But nobody ever said those adaptations were canon or even good. The original Batman comics, most of the newer comics, the Animated Series, the animated spinoffs, even the Arkham video games all operate under the lore that Batman does everything within his power to help as many villains as he can, even if it means going against cops, politicians, etc. That’s what originally made him the vigilante. He went against the social norms. He did everything that a hero shouldn’t do, not in a murderous way, but in a taking-sides way. Every other hero swoops in to save the corrupt politician from the criminal. Batman swoops in to save the criminal from the corrupt politician.
I’ll be honest, superhero stuff is supposed to be escapism. Because we as people living in the real world know that there’s no such thing as superheroes rushing to save the day.
With Batman, though, his kind of superheroics is achievable in the real world. He has money and martial arts training and a shit ton of gadgetry, yes, but the core thing about Batman is that what makes him a real superhero is his empathy, his sympathy, his willingness to do everything it takes to help people, be it helping them get jobs or making sure they get the mental help they need. He helps them get out of not just a current dangerous situation, but actually does all he can to get them out of future situations, something too many superheroes fail to think about.
Out of all the superheroes I’ve watched, seen, read about, Batman is one of the rare few I want to emulate, at least his willingness to help people in the long run and not just the short run.

This is what I talk about when I’m referring to tumblr using the “one strike and you’re out system” - that blog apologized over this and promised to do better but here y'all are, vilifying a positive blog that has done trans supportive things dozens of times over this one time they made a joke they probably didn’t even know was transphobic. they didn’t apologize. they made a post that boils down to “sorry that my joke offended you”. that’s not an apology
No, they did apologize, but given English isn’t their first language, it took a few times for them to write an apology that people somewaht decided it was good enough.
It was a literal issue of them struggling with English, and it was an honest mistake by them, as they didn’t know it was offensive.
(edit) When they said “sorry you got offended” they meant “I’m sorry I said something that hurt others”. Also, they ended up deleting their multiple apologies because no one backed off and continuously attacked them instead of trying to educate and help them with their English. We can’t educate others by refusing to allow them to apologize from their past mistakes and move on with new information.

I love this version of self-love because it’s much more feasible for people who are self-conscious. Like it takes years of powerful reconditioning to convince yourself that your flaws, like stretch marks or acne or cellulitis, are attractive. It’s basically impossible for most people.
But learning to say “so what, I’m ugly, there’s more to life” not only overwrites this narrative that we have to feel attractive in some way (which is bs) but also reroutes your actual attention to just, living, instead of examining, evaluating, and judging your appearance
