Something this fandom struggles with on a regular basis is Pearl and her relationship with Steven. I don’t know if people are just looking for angst, but I’m really desperate to shut down that train before it gets blown too out of proportion.
The very loaded line “Now I’ve got to be there for her son.” from It’s Over is a line I adore but also know is just ripe with misinterpretations waiting to happen. People often seem to portray Pearl as resenting or even outright blaming Steven for Rose’s absence; I know people are already jumping on this.
I don’t want people to think Pearl doesn’t absolutely love and adore Steven; I feel like if there’s anything Pearl is confident in, it’s her love for Steven. She wants to be an example for him and she definitely has the most maternal relationship with him.
She isn’t singing about how she’s been saddled with the care of Steven as if he’s a burden; she knows her feelings drive a wedge in Steven’s life. She’s stuck in her grief but she wants so badly to be strong for Steven.
I’m seeing a lot of people talking about Rebecca Sugar coming out like, “lmao did anybody think she was straight?”
Please don’t do this. Coming out can be one of the hardest things a person does, even when they play it off like it isn’t a big deal, especially given the circumstances Rebecca was under. Making jokes about how she was ~basically already out~ or that ~it was obvious~ is incredibly trivializing of the decision she felt she had to make, and furthermore becomes a serious issue of bi visibility and erasure when her coming out is met with remarks that sound an awful lot like, “Knowing she wasn’t straight was enough, we didn’t need to know she was bi.”
Just, please. Reconsider the way you’re talking about this.
And tbh if you’re not bi, you have no idea how big a deal it is that she actually SAID bi

1. I will not be able to handle a baby, but I will definitely be able to manage and guide an older child
2. no diapers. hallelujah
3. As a foster child gets older, their chance of adoption plummets. Adopting an older child gives a late break to someone who would have otherwise had to age out of the system
4. my plans for adoption are none of your concern

Honestly the main fixes for Pokemon Go that I would suggest:
Like, the biggest issue is that the game actively punishes you for not living in the city. If you don’t have enough Pokestops nearby you’re basically fucked to the point where the game’s nigh unplayable.
Rather than Niantic trying to make sure that they populate every last corner of the earth with Pokestops they should make the game not rely so damn much on them.
You should get a daily log-in bonus so that each day you play you at least have SOME pokeballs to work with.
Additionally, simply travelling around should automatically give you Pokeballs over time. So that people who don’t have a Pokestop on every corner can actually play the game.
Pokestops should give more or less items depending on the density of Pokestops around them.
If there amount of server-side Pokemon nearby is below a certain threshold, the game should start spawning in client-side Pokemon.
